'Name' in the Bible

But to all who did receive Him,He gave them the right to be children of God,to those who believe in His name,

While He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many trusted in His name when they saw the signs He was doing.

Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God.

I have come in My Father’s name, yet you don’t accept Me. If someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.

The doorkeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

“I did tell you and you don’t believe,” Jesus answered them. “The works that I do in My Father’s name testify about Me.

they took palm branches and went out to meet Him. They kept shouting: “Hosanna! He who comes in the name of the Lord is the blessed One—the King of Israel!”

Father, glorify Your name!”Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again!”

Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit—the Father will send Him in My name—will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.

You did not choose Me, but I chose you. I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.

But they will do all these things to you on account of My name, because they don’t know the One who sent Me.

In that day you will not ask Me anything.“I assure you: Anything you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.

Until now you have asked for nothing in My name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.

In that day you will ask in My name. I am not telling you that I will make requests to the Father on your behalf.

I have revealed Your nameto the men You gave Me from the world.They were Yours, You gave them to Me,and they have kept Your word.

I am no longer in the world,but they are in the world,and I am coming to You.Holy Father,protect them by Your namethat You have given Me,so that they may be one as We are one.

While I was with them,I was protecting them by Your namethat You have given Me.I guarded them and not one of them is lost,except the son of destruction,so that the Scripture may be fulfilled.

I made Your name known to themand will make it known,so the love You have loved Me withmay be in them and I may be in them.

Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it, struck the high priest’s slave, and cut off his right ear. (The slave’s name was Malchus.)

But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you may have life in His name.
