'Oppression' in the Bible
His mouth is filled with cursing, with deceits and oppression; under his tongue are trouble and evil.
"Because of [the] oppression of [the] afflicted, because of [the] groaning of [the] poor, now I will rise up," Yahweh says. "I shall put [them] in [the] safety [for which] they long."
I say to God, my rock, "Why have you forgotten me? Why must I walk about mourning because of [the] oppression of [the] enemy?"
because you [are] the God of my refuge. Why have you rejected me? Why must I go about mourning because of [the] oppression of [the] enemy?
Why do you hide your face? [Have] you forgotten our misery and our oppression?
because of [the] voice [of] an enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked, because they bring down evil on me, and in anger they hold a grudge [against] me.
Destruction [is] within it, and oppression and deceit do not depart from its public square.
From oppression and from violence he will redeem their lives, and their blood will be precious in his eyes.
They mock and speak maliciously of oppression; they speak [as though] from on high.
When they become few and they are bent down from [the] oppression of calamity and grief,
Redeem me from [the] oppression of humankind, that I may heed your precepts.
