'Pit' in the Bible
He dug a pit and hollowed it outbut fell into the hole he had made.
The nations have fallen into the pit they made;their foot is caught in the net they have concealed.
For You will not abandon me to Sheol;You will not allow Your Faithful One to see decay.
Davidic.Lord, I call to You;my rock, do not be deaf to me.If You remain silent to me,I will be like those going down to the Pit.
Lord, You brought me up from Sheol;You spared me from among thosegoing down to the Pit.
“What gain is there in my death,if I go down to the Pit?Will the dust praise You?Will it proclaim Your truth?
They hid their net for me without cause;they dug a pit for me without cause.
He brought me up from a desolate pit,out of the muddy clay,and set my feet on a rock,making my steps secure.
God, You will bring them downto the Pit of destruction;men of bloodshed and treacherywill not live out half their days.But I will trust in You.

to give him relief from troubled timesuntil a pit is dug for the wicked.

He sent His word and healed them;He rescued them from the Pit.
Answer me quickly, Lord;my spirit fails.Don’t hide Your face from me,or I will be like thosegoing down to the Pit.
