'Prisoner' in the Bible
At the festival the governor’s custom was to release to the crowd a prisoner they wanted.
At that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.
At the festival it was Pilate’s custom to release for the people a prisoner they requested.
You have a custom that I release one prisoner to you at the Passover. So, do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”
So he took him, brought him to the commander, and said, “The prisoner Paul called me and asked me to bring this young man to you, because he has something to tell you.”
Since they stayed there many days, Festus presented Paul’s case to the king, saying, “There’s a man who was left as a prisoner by Felix.
For it seems unreasonable to me to send a prisoner and not to indicate the charges against him.”
After three days he called together the leaders of the Jews. When they had gathered he said to them: “Brothers, although I have done nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors, I was delivered as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
But I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body.
For this reason, I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles—
Therefore I, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received,
So don’t be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, or of me His prisoner. Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power of God.

But the beast was taken prisoner, and along with him the false prophet, who had performed the signs in his presence. He deceived those who accepted the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image with these signs. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.
