'Rod' in the Bible

‘You shall break them with a rod of iron;You shall shatter them [in pieces] like earthenware.’”

Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death,I fear no evil, for You are with me;Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.

Then I will punish their transgression with the rod [of discipline],And [correct] their wickedness with stripes.
