'Violence' in the Bible
Do not envy a man of violence, and do not choose any of his ways,
For they ate the bread of wickedness, and they drank the wine of violence.
Blessings [belong] to the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
A fountain of life [is] a mouth of righteousness, and a mouth of wickedness conceals violence.
A person of violence will entice his neighbor and cause him to walk on a way [that is] not good.
He who does violence to a father, he who chases away a mother, [is] a child who causes shame and brings reproach.
The violence of the wicked will sweep them away, for they refuse to do justice.
For their minds will devise violence, and their lips will speak mischief.
Do not lie in wait [like] an outlaw against the home of the righteous; do not do violence [to] his dwelling place.
[Like] cutting off feet [or] drinking violence, so [is] he who sends messages in the hand of a fool.
