'Work' in the Bible

In those days they made a calf and brought a sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced and celebrated over the works of their hands.

While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul (Paul) for the work to which I have called them.”

From there they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been entrusted to the grace of God for the work which they had now completed.

But Paul kept insisting that they should not take along with them the one who had quit and deserted them in Pamphylia and had not gone on with them to the work.
