'Bent' in the Bible
So Ahab went on up to eat and drink, while Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel. He bent down toward the ground and put his face between his knees.
He got up on the bed and spread his body out over the boy; he put his mouth on the boy's mouth, his eyes over the boy's eyes, and the palms of his hands against the boy's palms. He bent down over him, and the boy's skin grew warm.
Elisha went back and walked around in the house. Then he got up on the bed again and bent down over him. The child sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.
Because they are bent on violence, do not let them escape! In your anger bring down the nations, O God!
As for those who are bent on traveling a sinful path, may the Lord remove them, along with those who behave wickedly! May Israel experience peace!
The Lord supports all who fall, and lifts up all who are bent over.
The Lord gives sight to the blind. The Lord lifts up all who are bent over. The Lord loves the godly.
What is bent cannot be straightened, and what is missing cannot be supplied.
Consider the work of God: For who can make straight what he has bent?
