'Cause' in the Bible

If I have done evil to him who was at peace with me,Or without cause robbed him who was my enemy,

For You have maintained my right and my cause;You have sat on the throne judging righteously.

O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble and oppressed;You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear to hear,

Hear the just (righteous) cause, O Lord; listen to my loud [piercing] cry;Listen to my prayer, that comes from guileless lips.

For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine;The Lord my God illumines my darkness.

Indeed, none of those who [expectantly] wait for You will be ashamed;Those who turn away from what is right and deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed (humiliated, embarrassed).

Evil will cause the death of the wicked,And those who hate the righteous will be held guilty and will be condemned.

For without cause they hid their net for me;Without cause they dug a pit [of destruction] for my life.

Do not let those who are wrongfully my enemies rejoice over me;Nor let those who hate me without cause wink their eye [maliciously].

Wake Yourself up, and arise to my rightAnd to my cause, my God and my Lord.

Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favor my vindication and want what is right for me;Let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, who delights and takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”

They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house;And You allow them to drink from the river of Your delights.

Judge and vindicate me, O God; plead my case against an ungodly nation.O rescue me from the deceitful and unjust man!

And in Your majesty ride on triumphantlyFor the cause of truth and humility and righteousness;Let Your right hand guide You to awesome things.

Blessed is the one whom You choose and bring nearTo dwell in Your courts.We will be filled with the goodness of Your house,Your holy temple.

God be gracious and kind-hearted to us and bless us,And make His face shine [with favor] on us— Selah.

Those who hate me without cause are more than the hairs of my head;Those who would destroy me are powerful, being my enemies wrongfully;I am forced to restore what I did not steal.

In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;Incline Your ear to me and save me.

Arise, O God, plead Your own cause;Remember how the foolish man scoffs at You all day long.

Restore us, O God;Cause Your face to shine on us [with favor and approval], and we will be saved.

Restore us, O God of hosts;And cause Your face to shine on us [with favor and approval], and we will be saved.

Restore us, O Lord God of hosts;Cause Your face to shine on us [in favor and approval], and we shall be saved.

Restore us, O God of our salvation,And cause Your indignation toward us to cease.

Therefore He lifted up His hand [swearing] to them,That He would cause them to fall in the wilderness,

They have also surrounded me with words of hatred,And have fought against me without a cause.

Let the arrogant be ashamed and humiliated, for they sabotage me with a lie;But I will meditate on Your precepts.

Plead my cause and redeem me;Revive me and give me life according to [the promise of] Your word.

Shin.Princes persecute me without cause,But my heart stands in [reverent] awe of Your words [so I can expect You to help me].

I know [with confidence] that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted,And [will secure] justice for the poor.

Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,For I trust in You.Teach me the way in which I should walk,For I lift up my soul to You.
