'Choose' in the Bible

So Moses said to Joshua, "Choose some of our men and go out, fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand."

But you choose from the people capable men, God-fearing, men of truth, those who hate bribes, and put them over the people as rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

And the staff of the man whom I choose will blossom; so I will rid myself of the complaints of the Israelites, which they murmur against you."

but I show covenant faithfulness to the thousands who choose me and keep my commandments.

Only the holy things and votive offerings that belong to you, you must pick up and take to the place the Lord will choose.

Go back and live with him among the people. Or go wherever else you choose." Then the captain of the guard gave Jeremiah some food and a present and let him go.

The Lord will take possession of Judah as his portion in the holy land and he will choose Jerusalem once again.
