'Crown' in the Bible
and having woven a crown out of thorns, they put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and, bowing the knee before him, they mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
And they clothe him with purple, and bind round on him a crown of thorns which they had plaited.
And the soldiers having plaited a crown of thorns put it on his head, and put a purple robe on him,
(Jesus therefore went forth without, wearing the crown of thorn, and the purple robe.) And he says to them, Behold the man!
But every one that contends for a prize is temperate in all things: they then indeed that they may receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.
So that, my brethren, beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, thus stand fast in the Lord, beloved.
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of boasting? are not ye also before our Lord Jesus at his coming?
Henceforth the crown of righteousness is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will render to me in that day; but not only to me, but also to all who love his appearing.
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for, having been proved, he shall receive the crown of life, which He has promised to them that love him.
