'Ground' in the Bible

People will go into caves in the rocksand holes in the ground,away from the terror of the Lordand from His majestic splendor,when He rises to terrify the earth.

Then her gates will lament and mourn;deserted, she will sit on the ground. >

Shining morning star,how you have fallen from the heavens!You destroyer of nations,you have been cut down to the ground.

Look, riders come—horsemen in pairs.”And he answered, saying,“Babylon has fallen, has fallen.All the images of her godshave been shattered on the ground.”

The high-walled fortress will be brought down,thrown to the ground, to the dust.

For He has humbled those who live in lofty places—an inaccessible city.He brings it down; He brings it down to the ground;He throws it to the dust.

I am not angry,but if it produces thorns and briers for Me,I will fight against it, trample it,and burn it to the ground.

You will be brought down;you will speak from the ground,and your words will come from low in the dust.Your voice will be like that of a spirit from the ground;your speech will whisper from the dust.

Then He will send rain for your seed that you have sown in the ground, and the food, the produce of the ground, will be rich and plentiful. On that day your cattle will graze in open pastures.

The oxen and donkeys that work the ground will eat salted fodder scattered with winnowing shovel and fork.

for the ground of my peoplegrowing thorns and briers,indeed, for every joyous house in the joyful city.

the parched ground will become a pool of water,and the thirsty land springs of water.In the haunt of jackals, in their lairs,there will be grass, reeds, and papyrus.

Every valley will be lifted up,and every mountain and hill will be leveled;the uneven ground will become smoothand the rough places, a plain.

They are barely planted, barely sown,their stem hardly takes root in the groundwhen He blows on them and they wither,and a whirlwind carries them away like stubble.

I will lead the blind by a way they did not know;I will guide them on paths they have not known.I will turn darkness to light in front of themand rough places into level ground.This is what I will do for them,and I will not forsake them.

For I will pour water on the thirsty landand streams on the dry ground;I will pour out My Spirit on your descendantsand My blessing on your offspring.

“Go down and sit in the dust,Virgin Daughter Babylon.Sit on the ground without a throne,Daughter Chaldea!For you will no longer be called pampered and spoiled.

Kings will be your foster fathers,and their queens your nursing mothers.They will bow down to youwith their faces to the ground,and lick the dust at your feet.Then you will know that I am Yahweh;those who put their hope in Mewill not be put to shame.

I will put it into the hands of your tormentors,who said to you:Lie down, so we can walk over you.You made your back like the ground,and like a street for those who walk on it. >

He grew up before Him like a young plantand like a root out of dry ground.He didn’t have an impressive formor majesty that we should look at Him,no appearance that we should desire Him.

I trampled the winepress alone,and no one from the nations was with Me.I trampled them in My angerand ground them underfoot in My fury;their blood spattered My garments,and all My clothes were stained.

I crushed nations in My anger;I made them drunk with My wrathand poured out their blood on the ground.
