'Monster' in the Bible
When Pharaoh speaketh unto you, saying, Give for yourselves a wonder; then thou hast said unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast before Pharaoh -- it becometh a monster.'
And Moses goeth in -- Aaron also -- unto Pharaoh, and they do so as Jehovah hath commanded; and Aaron casteth his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it becometh a monster.
Am I the sea or a sea monster,that You keep me under guard?
“God will not turn back His anger;The [proud] helpers of Rahab [the arrogant monster of the sea] bow under Him.
By his power he disturbs the sea; and with his skill he shatters the sea monster.
You destroyed the sea by your strength; you shattered the heads of the sea monster in the water.
There the ships [of the sea] sail,And Leviathan [the sea monster], which You have formed to play there.
On that day the Lord with His harsh, great, and strong sword, will bring judgment on Leviathan, the fleeing serpent—Leviathan, the twisting serpent. He will slay the monster that is in the sea.
The desert creatures will meet with the wolves,The hairy goat also will cry to its kind;Yes, the night monster will settle thereAnd will find herself a resting place.
Wake up, wake up!Put on the strength of the Lord’s power.Wake up as in days past,as in generations of long ago.Wasn’t it You who hacked Rahab to pieces,who pierced the sea monster?
“Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon has devoured me;he has crushed me.He has set me aside like an empty dish;he has swallowed me like a sea monster;he filled his belly with my delicacies;he has vomited me out,”
Tell him that this is what the Lord GOD says: "Watch out! I'm coming to get you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt! You big monster! You lay in wait in the middle of your waterways and say, "My waterways belong to me! I made them for myself!"
“Son of man, lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him:You compare yourself to a lion of the nations,but you are like a monster in the seas.You thrash about in your rivers,churn up the waters with your feet,and muddy the rivers.”
