'Reproach' in the Bible
Blessed are ye when they may reproach and persecute you, and say every wicked thing against you, lying, for my sake.
Then began he to reproach the cities in which most of his works of power had taken place, because they had not repented.
Thus has the Lord done to me in these days in which he looked upon me to take away my reproach among men.
Blessed are ye when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from them, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as wicked, for the Son of man's sake:
For the Christ also did not please himself; but according as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproach thee have fallen upon me.
But it is necessary that he should have also a good testimony from those without, that he may fall not into reproach and the snare of the devil.
for, for this we labour and suffer reproach, because we hope in a living God, who is preserver of all men, specially of those that believe.
I will therefore that the younger marry, bear children, rule the house, give no occasion to the adversary in respect of reproach.
