'Sick' in the Bible
Now when Jesus entered Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law lying down, sick with a fever.
When it was evening, many demon-possessed people were brought to him. He drove out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick.
When Jesus heard this he said, "Those who are healthy don't need a physician, but those who are sick do.
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.
As he got out he saw the large crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
When the people there recognized him, they sent word into all the surrounding area, and they brought all their sick to him.
I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.'
When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?'
I was a stranger and you did not receive me as a guest, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.'
Then they too will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not give you whatever you needed?'
Simon's mother-in-law was lying down, sick with a fever, so they spoke to Jesus at once about her.
When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were sick and demon-possessed.
So he healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons. But he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.
When Jesus heard this he said to them, "Those who are healthy don't need a physician, but those who are sick do. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
He was not able to do a miracle there, except to lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.
They cast out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.
They ran through that whole region and began to bring the sick on mats to wherever he was rumored to be.
And wherever he would go -- into villages, towns, or countryside -- they would place the sick in the marketplaces, and would ask him if they could just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.
they will pick up snakes with their hands, and whatever poison they drink will not harm them; they will place their hands on the sick and they will be well."
As the sun was setting, all those who had any relatives sick with various diseases brought them to Jesus. He placed his hands on every one of them and healed them.
Jesus answered them, "Those who are well don't need a physician, but those who are sick do.
A centurion there had a slave who was highly regarded, but who was sick and at the point of death.
and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
Heal the sick in that town and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come upon you!'
Now he came again to Cana in Galilee where he had made the water wine. In Capernaum there was a certain royal official whose son was sick.
A great number of sick, blind, lame, and paralyzed people were lying in these walkways.
The sick man answered him, "Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up. While I am trying to get into the water, someone else goes down there before me."
A large crowd was following him because they were observing the miraculous signs he was performing on the sick.
Now a certain man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village where Mary and her sister Martha lived.
(Now it was Mary who anointed the Lord with perfumed oil and wiped his feet dry with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
So the sisters sent a message to Jesus, "Lord, look, the one you love is sick."
So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he remained in the place where he was for two more days.
if we are being examined today for a good deed done to a sick man -- by what means this man was healed --
Thus they even carried the sick out into the streets, and put them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow would fall on some of them.
A crowd of people from the towns around Jerusalem also came together, bringing the sick and those troubled by unclean spirits. They were all being healed.

That is why many of you are weak and sick, and quite a few are dead.
And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick and the Lord will raise him up -- and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
