'Two' in the Bible

God made two great lights -- the greater light to rule over the day and the lesser light to rule over the night. He made the stars also.

Lamech took two wives for himself; the name of the first was Adah, and the name of the second was Zillah.

"God will provide for himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son," Abraham replied. The two of them continued on together.

After the camels had finished drinking, the man took out a gold nose ring weighing a beka and two gold bracelets weighing ten shekels and gave them to her.

and the Lord said to her, "Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples will be separated from within you. One people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger."

Each frame is to be fifteen feet long, and each frame is to be two feet three inches wide,

with two projections per frame parallel one to another. You are to make all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.

and you are to make forty silver bases to go under the twenty frames -- two bases under the first frame for its two projections, and likewise two bases under the next frame for its two projections;

and their forty silver bases, two bases under the first frame, and two bases under the next frame.

You are to make two frames for the corners of the tabernacle on the back.

At the two corners they must be doubled at the lower end and finished together at the top in one ring. So it will be for both.

So there are to be eight frames and their silver bases, sixteen bases, two bases under the first frame, and two bases under the next frame.

The poles are to be put into the rings so that the poles will be on two sides of the altar when carrying it.

It is to have two shoulder pieces attached to two of its corners, so it can be joined together.

"You are to take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel,

You are to engrave the two stones with the names of the sons of Israel with the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a seal; you are to have them set in gold filigree settings.

You are to put the two stones on the shoulders of the ephod, stones of memorial for the sons of Israel, and Aaron will bear their names before the Lord on his two shoulders for a memorial.

and two braided chains of pure gold, like a cord, and attach the chains to the settings.

the other two ends of the two chains you will attach to the two settings and then attach them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front of it.

You are to make two rings of gold and put them on the other two ends of the breastpiece, on its edge that is on the inner side of the ephod.

You are to make two more gold rings and attach them to the bottom of the two shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the juncture above the waistband of the ephod.

"Now this is what you are to do for them to consecrate them so that they may minister as my priests. Take a young bull and two rams without blemish;

You are to put them in one basket and present them in the basket, along with the bull and the two rams.

You are to take all the fat that covers the entrails, and the lobe that is above the liver, and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, and burn them on the altar.

"You are to take from the ram the fat, the fat tail, the fat that covers the entrails, the lobe of the liver, the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, and the right thigh -- for it is the ram for consecration --

"Now this is what you are to prepare on the altar every day continually: two lambs a year old.

You are to make two gold rings for it under its border, on its two flanks; you are to make them on its two sides. The rings will be places for poles to carry it with.

He gave Moses two tablets of testimony when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, tablets of stone written by the finger of God.

Moses turned and went down from the mountain with the two tablets of the testimony in his hands. The tablets were written on both sides -- they were written on the front and on the back.

The Lord said to Moses, "Cut out two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you smashed.

with two projections per frame parallel one to another. He made all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.

He made forty silver bases under the twenty frames -- two bases under the first frame for its two projections, and likewise two bases under the next frame for its two projections,

and their forty silver bases, two bases under the first frame and two bases under the next frame.

He made two frames for the corners of the tabernacle on the back.
