Look at every proud man and humble him, crush the wicked where they stand.

I will destroy anyone who secretly slanders his neighbor. I will not tolerate anyone with a conceited look or arrogant heart.



All who are proud will be humbled. Jehovah of Hosts will have his day against all who are arrogant and conceited.

Those prideful people will stumble and fall, and there will be no one to help them get up. I will light a fire in their cities that will burn up everything around them.

Jehovah of Hosts proclaims: The day is coming when all arrogant and evil people will burn like stubble. On that day they will burn up and there will be nothing left of them, either root or bough.

O how you have fallen from heaven, you morning star (shining one), and son of the dawn! How you have been cut down to the ground, you who conquered nations! You invited my enemies to hold a festival of terror all around me. No one could escape on that day of your anger. They murdered my children, whom I had raised and loved.

Woe to you who desire the day of Jehovah! What will the day of Jehovah mean to you? It is darkness, and not light.

Jehovah, you have abandoned your people, the descendants of Jacob, because they are filled with Eastern influences. They practice witchcraft like the Philistines, and they make deals with foreigners. Pay close attention to the things heard so we do not drift away. If the word spoken through angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward (penalty). How shall we escape, if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first presented by the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard him.
