You have forgotten the exhortation that reasons with you as to sons: My son, do not despise (regard lightly) discipline from Jehovah and do not lose heart when he corrects you. (Proverbs 3:11, 12) Jehovah disciplines those he loves. In fact he scourges every son (child) he receives. God deals with you like children. Endure discipline (instruction) (training). Who is the child whom a father does not discipline?
My son, do not despise Jehovah's discipline or be weary of his correction. For whom Jehovah loves He reproves, just like a father corrects the son he loves dearly. (Hebrews 12:6)
He made you hear his voice out of heaven. That way he could instruct (teach) (correct) (discipline) you. He showed you his great fire on the earth. You heard his words from the middle of the fire.
Learn this lesson by heart: Jehovah your God disciplined you like parents discipline their children.
I will be his father. He will be my son. When he does wrong I will correct him just as parents correct children.
On the other hand a man may be chastened on a bed of pain with constant distress in his bones.
He makes them listen to correction and commands them to repent of their evil.
When I kept silent about my sins, my body wasted away and I groaned all day long. Day and night your hand lay heavily on me. My strength drained in the summer heat.
Jehovah, how happy are those you instruct, the ones to whom you teach your law! You give them rest from days of trouble until a pit is dug to trap the wicked.
I know, O Jehovah, that your judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
I said, show me respect and receive discipline (instruction) (correction)! That way she would not loose her dwelling. This is according to all that I have appointed concerning her. But they rose early to corrupt all their deeds.
The man who endures under trial is blessed. For when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life that God promised to those who love him.
For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, Jehovah disciplines us, that we should not be destroyed (condemned) with the world. (Proverbs 3:11)
Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu each took an incense burner. They put burning coals and incense in it. Then in Jehovah's presence they offered this unauthorized fire. A fire flashed from Jehovah and burned them. They died in the presence of Jehovah. Moses said to Aaron: This is what Jehovah was speaking about when he said: 'All who serve me must respect my holiness. I will reveal my glory to my people.' But Aaron remained silent.
The people complained out loud to Jehovah about their troubles. Jehovah heard them and he became angry. Fire from Jehovah burned among them. It destroyed some people on the outskirts of the camp. The people cried out to Moses. Moses prayed to Jehovah! And the fire died down. That place was called Taberah (Fire) because fire from Jehovah burned among them there.
The messenger answered: Israel ran away from the Philistines. It was a great slaughter and a terrible defeat for us! Besides that, your sons Hophni and Phinehas were killed, and God's Ark of the Covenant was captured! When the man mentioned the Ark of God Eli fell backward from his seat beside the gate. He was so old and fat that the fall broke his neck and he died. He was a leader in Israel for forty years. Eli's daughter-in-law the wife of Phinehas was pregnant. It was almost time for her baby to be born. When she heard that God's Ark of the Covenant was captured and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she suddenly went into labor and gave birth.read more.
She too was dying. The women helping her said: Do not be afraid. You have given birth to a son. But she did not answer or pay attention. She called the boy Ichabod (No Glory), saying: Israel's glory is gone, because the Ark of God had been captured and because her father-in-law and her husband died.
As they came to the threshing place of Nacon, the oxen stumbled, and Uzzah reached out and took hold of the Ark of the Covenant. At once Jehovah God became angry with Uzzah. He killed him because of his irreverence. Uzzah died there beside the Ark of the Covenant. Because of that the place has been called Perez Uzzah (breakthrough of Uzzah) ever since. David was furious because Jehovah punished Uzzah in anger.
When they came to the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the Ark, because the bulls stumbled. Jehovah's anger burned against Uzzah. He struck him down because he had put his hand on the Ark. So he died there before God. David was angry because Jehovah's wrath had broken out against Uzzah. To this day that place is called Perez Uzzah. (Outbreak against Uzzah)
The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.
The fear of the wicked will come upon him. The desire of the righteous will be granted.
I will punish the world for its evil and the wicked for their iniquity. I will also end the arrogance of the proud. I will demean (disgrace) the arrogance of tyranny.
Behold! Jehovah is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will disclose (reveal) the bloodshed upon her. She will conceal her slain no longer.
Jehovah will judge with fire, and he will judge all people with his sword. Jehovah will strike many people dead.
Do not wonder about this for the hour is coming when everyone in the grave will hear his voice. They will return. Those who did good will have the resurrection of life. Those who did evil will receive the resurrection of judgment.
Let no one deceive you with empty words. It is because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

When they say, Peace and security! then sudden destruction will come upon them, as labor pains come to a pregnant woman. They will not escape.
If the word spoken through angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward (penalty). How shall we escape, if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first presented by the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard him.
He comes before Jehovah! Yes, he comes to judge the earth! He will judge the world with righteousness, and the people with His truth (fidelity) (faithfulness).
Surely you would not do that! Would you slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked? Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
The king sent for Moses and Aaron and said: This time I have sinned. Jehovah is in the right. My people and I are in the wrong.
This is in Jehovah's presence because he is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness and its people with fairness.
Do not wonder about this for the hour is coming when everyone in the grave will hear his voice. They will return. Those who did good will have the resurrection of life. Those who did evil will receive the resurrection of judgment. I can do nothing by myself. So I hear and judge and my judgment is righteous. I do not seek my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
If our unrighteousness defines God's righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? God is not unrighteous when he vents his anger is he? I speak in human terms. Not at all! For how will God judge the world? But what if my untruth serves God's glory by making his truth stand out more clearly? Why should I be condemned as a sinner?read more.
Why not say, Let us do evil so that good may come? Some people have insulted me by accusing me of saying this very thing! They should be condemned and they will be.
When he was reviled (insulted), he did not revile in return. When he suffered he did not threaten, but committed himself to him that judges righteously.
I heard the angel of the waters say: You are righteous, Jehovah, who are, and was, the Holy One, because you have judged these things. (Exodus 3:14) They have shed the blood of the holy ones and prophets. You give them blood to drink for they deserve it. I heard another say: Even so, Jehovah God the Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments. (Deuteronomy 32:4) (Psalm 145:17) (Exodus 6:3)
I will show you the one to fear. Fear the one who, after he has killed, has power to destroy you (throw into the ever-burning trash fires of the valley of Hinnom) (Greek: Gehenna). This is one you should fear.
Do not fear those who kill the body. They are not able to take away your [everlasting] life. Instead, fear him who is able to destroy both life and body in the ever-burning fires. (Greek: Gehenna: continuously burning trash fires in the valley of Hinnom.)
If your right eye causes you to sin, take it out and throw it away! It is better to lose a part of your body then to have your whole body destroyed in the ever-burning fires of the Valley of Hinnom. If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better to lose part of your body, than for your whole body to be destroyed in the ever-burning fire. (Figuratively: lose prospect for everlasting life; ever-burning fire means total destruction.)
Now I tell you that everyone who is angry with his brother [without cause] shall be guilty before the court. Whoever speaks to his brother with words of contempt shall receive condemnation before the Sanhedrin [Supreme Court]. Curse your brother and you will be guilty enough to be destroyed by fire, with the burning trash, at the Valley of Hinnom, outside of Jerusalem (Greek: Gehenna).
The sinners in Zion are terrified. The godless tremble. Who of us can dwell with the consuming fire? Who of us can dwell with long lasting fire?
Jehovah will come with fire and with his chariots like a thunderstorm. He will pay them back with his burning anger and punish them with flames of fire.
Who can stand before his indignation (displeasure)? Who can resist (withstand) (endure) the heat of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken to pieces by him.
Jehovah of Hosts proclaims: The day is coming when all arrogant and evil people will burn like stubble. On that day they will burn up and there will be nothing left of them, either root or bough.
The weeds are gathered up and burned (destroyed) with fire. It will be this way at the end of the age. The Son of man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all who stumble others and commit lawlessness. The angels will cast them into the furnace of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.read more.
The righteous will shine as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He that has ears let him hear.
If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It would be better to enter into life maimed then, having two hands to be destroyed in the ever-burning trash fires in the Valley of Hinnom. (Greek: Gehenna)
The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man died and was buried. He was in great torment in the grave (hades). He looked up and saw Abraham, far away, with Lazarus at his side. He called out: Father Abraham! Take pity on me! Please send Lazarus to dip his finger in some water and cool off my tongue. I am in torment in this fire!
Death and the grave were hurled into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Whoever was not found written in the book of life was hurled (thrust) (thrown) into the lake of fire.
The king gave orders for that person to be tied hand and foot and thrown outside into the dark. That is where people will cry and grind their teeth in pain.
Then he will tell those on his left: 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the ever-burning fire that is prepared for the Devil and his [fallen] angels.
Strive to go in through the narrow door. Many people will try to go in and will not be able. The master of the house will close the door. You stand outside and knock on the door and say: 'Open the door for us, sir!' He will answer: 'I do not know where you come from!' Then you will answer, we ate and drank with you. Again he will say: 'I do not know where you come from. Get away from me, you wicked people!' You will cry and grind your teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, while you are thrown out!
Nothing impure will ever enter it. The shameful and deceitful will not enter. Only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life will enter.
They will render vengeance to those who do not know God, and to those who do not obey the good news of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer punishment, even eternal destruction from the Lord and from the glory of his might.
Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
These will go away into ever-burning fire (everlasting cutting off) (death) (total destruction) (doom) (punishment) (everlasting penalty), but the righteous to everlasting life.'
The smoke of their torment will ascend forever and ever. They who worship the beast and his image and receive the mark of his name have no rest day or night.
He who can hear should listen to what the Spirit says to the congregations. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.'
Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them. They shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall rule as kings with him for the thousand years.
But the fearful and unbelieving, abominable and murderers, fornicators and those practicing spiritism, idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur: which is the second death.

But you have been brought down to the grave, to the deepest part of the pit.
He should not be a new believer, so that he will not become conceited and fall into the condemnation of the Devil.
Since the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also took part of the same things, that through death he might destroy him that had the power to cause death, [Satan] the Devil.
The great dragon was thrown down, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was hurled down to the earth, and his angels with him.
The devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are, and will be tormented day and night forever.
