After that, he was seen of more than five hundred brethren at once: of which many remain unto this day, and many are fallen asleep.

And the LORD said unto Moses, "Behold, thou must sleep with thy fathers, and this people will go a whoring after strange gods of the land whither they go and will forsake me and break the covenant which I have made with them.

Why dost thou not forgive my sin? Wherefore takest thou not away my wickedness? Behold, now must I sleep in the dust: And if thou seekest me tomorrow in the morning, I shall be gone."


This said he. And after that he said unto them, "Our friend Lazarus sleepeth, but I go to wake him out of sleep."

Howbeit David, after he had in his time fulfilled the will of God, he slept, and was laid with his fathers, and saw corruption.

but when man sleepeth, he riseth not again, until the heaven perish: he shall not wake up nor rise out of his sleep.

In their heat I shall set drink before them, and they shall be drunken for joy: Then shall they sleep an everlasting sleep, and never wake, sayeth the LORD.

And he kneeled down and cried with a loud voice, "Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. For they know not what they do." And when he had thus spoken he fell asleep.


Behold, I show a mystery unto you: we shall not all sleep: but we shall all be changed,

For if we believe that Jesus died, and rose again: even so them also which sleep by Jesus, will God bring again with him. And this say we unto you in the word of the Lord, that we which live and are remaining in the coming of the Lord, shall not come before they which sleep.



All the stars of heaven shall be consumed, and the heaven shall fold together like a roll, and all the stars thereof shall fall, like as the leaves fall from the vines and fig trees.

And, "Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth: And the heavens are the works of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure. They all shall wax old as doth a garment: and as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: but thou art always, and thy years shall not fail."


but when man sleepeth, he riseth not again, until the heaven perish: he shall not wake up nor rise out of his sleep.

Lift up your eyes to heaven and behold the earth beneath. For heaven shall vanish away as smoke, and the earth shall wear away as a vesture, and the inhabiters thereof shall perish away after the same manner: but my salvation shall endure ever, and my righteousness shall not perish.


And I saw a great white seat and him that sat on it, from whose face fled away both the earth and heaven, and their place was no more found.




And I beheld when he opened the sixth seal, and lo there was a great earthquake, and the sun was as black as sackcloth made of hair. And the moon waxed even as blood: and the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth from her her figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And heaven vanished away, as a scroll when it is rolled together. And all mountains and isles were moved out of their places.

And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou laid to rest with thy fathers, then I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy body, and will establish his kingdom.

And Jehoshaphat laid him to sleep with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father. And Jehoram his son reigned in his room.

he said unto them, "Get you hence, for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth." And they laughed him to scorn.


And he went in and said unto them, "Why make ye this ado and weep? The maiden is not dead, but sleepeth."

but when man sleepeth, he riseth not again, until the heaven perish: he shall not wake up nor rise out of his sleep.


he said unto them, "Get you hence, for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth." And they laughed him to scorn.

Everybody wept and sorrowed for her. And he said, "Weep not: for she is not dead, but sleepeth."

This said he. And after that he said unto them, "Our friend Lazarus sleepeth, but I go to wake him out of sleep." Then said his disciples, "Lord, if he sleep, then shall he do well enough."
