While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them. A voice came out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.
Then a voice from heaven said: This is my Son whom I love and whom I have approved.
There is another who testifies about me. I know that his evidence about me is true.
The Father who sent me testifies about me. You have not heard his voice nor seen him at any time.
I testify about myself and the Father who sent me testifies about me.
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. The witness of God is this, that he gave witness concerning his Son.

Paul said: John baptized with the baptism of repentance. He told the people they should believe in Jesus, the one who came after John.
This was according to the words of Isaiah the prophet: The voice of one crying in the wilderness. Make ready the way of Jehovah. Make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled. Every mountain and hill shall be brought low. The crooked shall become straight and the rough ways smooth. All flesh shall see the salvation of God. (Isaiah 40:3-6)
The prophet Isaiah wrote: I am sending my messenger ahead of you to prepare your way. The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of Jehovah (YHWH), make his paths straight. (Isaiah 40:3) John the Baptist was in the desert (wilderness) telling people to repent (turn away from sin) and be baptized for forgiveness of sins. read more.
People from the province of Judea and the city of Jerusalem went out to hear John. They confessed their sins and he baptized them in the Jordan River. John was clothed in camel's hair with a leather belt about his loins. He ate locusts and wild honey. He told the people: The man who comes after me is greater than I am. Your child will be called the prophet of the Most High. You will go in advance of Jehovah God to make his ways ready. He said: These are my words that I spoke to you, while I was yet with you. All things must be fulfilled. They are things that are written in the Law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning me. He opened their minds that they might understand the scriptures. Witness » Who is a witness of the lord
We have heard that which was from the beginning. We have also seen it with our own eyes. We looked at it and touched it with our hands. It is the Word of life. The life was made known and we have seen and testify about it. We declare the life to you. It is the eternal life, which was with the Father and was shown to us. We declare to you what we have seen and heard. This way you may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ!
Peter and the other apostles answered: We must obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you killed. You hanged him on a stake. God exalted him to his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. read more.
