I request (urge) (implore) you brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk (live) (be occupied) as children of light for the fruit of the light (life) (spirit) consists of all goodness and righteousness and truth. Learn what is well pleasing to the Lord.

We make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to him.

He that sows to his own flesh will harvest corruption of the flesh. But he that sows to the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

Walk worthily of God, fully pleasing him. Bear fruit in every good work, and increase in the knowledge (Greek: epignosis: full discernment, recognition) of God.

Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing in the Lord.

Furthermore, we encourage you, brothers, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received from us how you ought to walk, and to please God, so you would abound more and more.

I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, They should be made for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.

But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show righteousness towards their own family, and to repay their parents: for this is acceptable in the sight of God.

Do I now seek the favor of men, or of God? Am I striving to please men? If I were still pleasing men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

We always speak, as God wants us to. He has judged us worthy to be entrusted with the Good News. We do not try to please people, but to please God, who tests our motives (examines our hearts).

I well know, O my God, that you test everyone's heart and are pleased with people of integrity. In honesty and sincerity I have willingly given all this to you. I have seen how your people who are gathered here have been happy to bring offerings to you.

You do not desire sacrifice. Otherwise, I would offer one to you. You are not pleased with burnt offerings. The sacrifice pleasing to God is a broken spirit. O God, you do not despise a broken and sorrowful (contrite) heart.

For the kingdom of God is not food and drink; but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he that serves Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of by men.

For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness. No evil dwells with you!

I will praise the name of God with a song. I will magnify him with thanksgiving. It will please Jehovah better than an ox of bull that has horns and hoofs.

He finds no joy in strong horses, nor do brave soldiers please him. Jehovah is pleased with those who fear him, with those who wait with hope for his mercy.

Jehovah takes pleasure in his people. He crowns (beautifies) those who are oppressed with salvation.

Those who are of a perverse heart are abomination to Jehovah. The way of the upright is his delight.

Lying lips are an abomination to Jehovah. Those who deal truly are his delight.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah! The prayer of the upright is his delight.

Jehovah says: What do your many animal sacrifices mean to me? I have had enough of your burnt offerings of rams and enough fat from your fattened calves. I am not pleased with the blood of bulls, lambs, or male goats. Who requires you to trample on my courtyards when you appear in my presence? Do not bring any more worthless grain offerings. Your incense is disgusting to me! So are your New Moon Festivals, your days of worship, and the assemblies you call. I cannot endure your evil assemblies!

Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord Jehovah, that he should turn from his ways and live?

Say to them: 'As I am alive! Declares the Lord Jehovah. I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Only that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back! Turn back from your evil ways! Why then will you die, O house of Israel?'

Then Jehovah said: Consider your ways.

Another thing you do is drown Jehovah's altar with tears, weeping and wailing. This is because he no longer accepts the offerings you bring him. You ask: Why do you not accept our offerings? It is because Jehovah is a witness between you and the wife of your youth. The one to whom you have been unfaithful! She is your companion, the wife of your marriage vows.

Those influenced by the sinful flesh cannot please God.

Without faith it is impossible to please God. He who comes to God must believe that he is and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Burn the whole ram on the altar. It is burnt offering to Jehovah. The odor of this offering pleases me.

I have all things, and prosper: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you. It is an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.

The meat and bread are to be placed on the altar and sent up in smoke with a smell before Jehovah.

Wash the internal organs and legs. The priest will then burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, an offering by fire, a soothing aroma to Jehovah.

Some of the priests will lay these pieces on the altar and send them up in smoke with a smell that pleases me, together with the sacrifice that is offered to Jehovah.

you must bring offerings by fire to Jehovah. They may be burnt offerings or any other kind of sacrifice. They may be offered to fulfill a vow, as a freewill offering, or as one of your festival offerings. They may be cattle, sheep, or goats. These are offerings that are a soothing (pleasant) (restful) aroma to Jehovah.

Present a burnt offering to Jehovah. It is an odor pleasing to him: one young bull, one ram, and seven one-year-old male lambs, all without any defects.

That they may make offerings of a sweet smell to the God of heaven, with prayers for the life of the king and of his sons.

Do not forget (neglect) to do good and to communicate (fellowship) (share), for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Jehovah directs a person's steps and Jehovah delights in his way.

Praise Jehovah your God! He delighted in you and made you king of Israel. Jehovah's love for Israel is long lasting, he has made you king, to be their judge in righteousness.

He prays to God and finds favor with him. He sees God's face and shouts for joy! God restores him to his righteous state.

When a man's ways please Jehovah he makes even his enemies live in peace with him.

Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, even our Lord Jesus, make you perfect (mature) in every good thing. May you do his will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Not everyone who calls me Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. He who does the will of my Father in heaven will enter.

This should not be in the way of eye service, as men-pleasers; but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from a complete heart;

The world and its desires (lusts) are passing away; but he who does the will of God lives forever.

Keep in mind, O my God, for my good, all I have done for this people.

And for the wood offering, at fixed times, and for the first fruits. Keep me in mind, O my God, for good.

May my thoughts be pleasing to him. I will find joy in Jehovah.

Then a voice from heaven said: This is my Son whom I love and whom I have approved.

Holy Spirit descended upon him in a bodily form like a dove. A voice came out of heaven. He said: You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased.

I can do nothing by myself. So I hear and judge and my judgment is righteous. I do not seek my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
