Folly is joy to him that is destitute of understanding, but the man who is intelligent walks uprightly.
And this I pray that your charity may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all perception, that ye may approve the best, that ye may be sincere and without offense until the day of Christ,
Who is wise that he might understand this? and prudent that he might know this? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them; but the rebellious shall fall therein.
Then thy handmaid said, Let the word of my lord the king bring rest; for as an angel of God, so is my lord the king to discern good and evil; and let the LORD thy God be with thee.
He shall eat butter and honey that he may know to refuse the evil and choose the good.
and this is that ye may discern between the holy and the profane and between the unclean and the clean
The rich man is wise in his own conceit, but the poor that has understanding is wiser than he.
And the LORD replied unto Samuel, Do not look on his countenance or on the height of his stature because I have refused him, for it is not as man sees, for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.

Give, therefore, thy slave a hearing heart to judge thy people that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this thy so great a people?
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper and shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.
to another, the operation of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, discerning of spirits; to another, different kinds of tongues; to another, the interpretation of tongues:
Whosoever keeps the law is a wise son, but he that is a companion of gluttons shames his father.
But strong food belongs to those that are perfect, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
And be not conformed to this age, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your soul that ye may experience what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.
