among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind and were by nature the children of wrath, even as all the others.
Then sin, when there was occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of lust. For without the law sin was as if it were dormant.
For they that are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly and by smooth words and blessings deceive the hearts of the simple.

But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, boast not and do not be liars against the truth. This wisdom is not that which descends from above, but is earthly, natural, diabolical. For where there is envy and contention, there is confusion and every perverse work.
Whosoever goes astray seeks according to his own lust and shall meddle with every doctrine.

but the others out of charity, knowing that I am placed here for the defense of the gospel.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my storehouses and build greater, and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast many goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee; then whose shall those things be which thou hast stored up?read more.
So is he that lays up treasure for himself and is not rich in God.
He that loves pleasure shall be a poor man; he that loves wine and oil shall not be rich.
For by means of a whorish woman a man is reduced to a piece of bread, and the woman will hunt the precious soul of the man.
for the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty, and drowsiness shall cause them to wear rags.
And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together and took his journey into a far country and there wasted his estate with riotous living. For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live temperately, righteously, and godly in this present world;
For those that are according to the flesh know the things that are of the flesh; but those that are according to the Spirit, the things that are of the Spirit.
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies and not to covetousness.
as obedient sons, not conforming yourselves with the former desires that you had before in your ignorance,
