My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse trials, knowing that the proving of your faith works patience,

that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold (which perishes, nevertheless it is tried with fire), might be found unto praise and glory and honour when Jesus, the Christ, is made manifest;

What is man that thou should magnify him and that thou should set thine heart upon him and that thou should visit him every morning and try him every moment?

But he has known the way that I take; he has tried me, and I have come forth as gold.

The LORD tries the righteous, but the wicked and he that loves violence his soul hates.

and I will turn my hand upon thee and according to pureness purge away thy dross and take away all thy tin;

And I will put the third part into the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried; He shall call on my name, and I will hear him; I will say, My people, and he shall say, The LORD is my God.

And he shall sit to refine and to purify the silver: for he shall purify the sons of Levi and purge them as gold and silver that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

Blessed is the man that patiently endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those that love him.

Then the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather the word for every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or not.

And thou shalt remember all the way by which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness to afflict thee and to prove thee to know what was in thine heart, whether thou would keep his commandments, or not. And he afflicted thee and caused thee to hunger and sustained thee with manna, food of which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know, that he might make thee know that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD shall man live.

Then Moses said unto the people, Fear not, for God is come to prove you and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, a food which thy fathers knew not, afflicting thee and proving thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God proves you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the LORD your God and fear him and keep his commandments and hear his voice, and ye shall serve him and cleave unto him.

And it came to pass after these things that God proved Abraham and said unto him, Abraham; and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou dost love, and go to the land of Moriah and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there; and it shall be that of whom I say unto thee, This one shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whoever I say unto thee, This one shall not go with thee, the same shall not go. So he brought the people down unto the water, and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that laps of the water with his tongue as a dog laps, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that bows down upon his knees to drink. And the number of those that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men; but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink the water.read more.
Then the LORD said unto Gideon, With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and deliver the Midianites into thy hand; and let all the other people go each one to his place.

However, because of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that had happened in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

And lest the greatness of the revelations should exalt me above measure, there is given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord three times that it might be taken from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, I will rather glory in my weaknesses that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

And she said, Yes, Lord, yet the little dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith; be it unto thee even as thou desire. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him and came and fell at his feet; the woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation, and she besought him that he would cast forth the demon out of her daughter. But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled, for it is not good to take the children's bread and to cast it unto the dogs.read more.

And be not conformed to this age, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your soul that ye may experience what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.

Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast refined me and hast found no iniquity; that which I thought did not pass through my mouth.

Examine me, O LORD and prove me; melt my kidneys and my heart.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts

Nun Let us search out our ways, and seek, and turn again to the LORD.

Examine yourselves whether ye are in the faith; prove your own selves. Do ye not know your own selves if Jesus Christ is in you? Unless ye are reprobates.

But let everyone prove his own work, and then he shall have glory regarding only himself, and not in another.

Examine all things; retain that which is good.

Now if anyone builds upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble, the work of each one shall be made manifest, for the day shall declare it because it shall be revealed by fire; the work of each one, whatever sort it is, the fire shall put it to test. If the work of anyone abides which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.read more.
If anyone's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, and there shall be food in my house, and prove me now in this, said the LORD of the hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

And to Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah,

And they tempted God in their heart by asking for food according to the desires of their soul.

harden not your heart, as in the provocation and as in the day of trials in the wilderness

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Then the Pharisees came unto him, tempting him and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for any cause?

And the Pharisees came to him and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.

Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried thy husband are at the door and shall carry thee out.

Now therefore why tempt ye God, putting a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: Where your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
