Isaiah spoke of John when he said: He is a voice shouting in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of Jehovah. Make his paths straight.' (Isaiah 40:3)
Thus the prophecy revealed to Isaiah would be fulfilled:
In so doing, that which was spoken through Isaiah was fulfilled. Isaiah wrote: He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.
The prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled. 'By hearing, you shall hear, and shall in no way understand. By seeing you shall see, and shall in no way perceive.
You hypocrites (liars)! Isaiah's prophecy was right about you.
The prophet Isaiah wrote: I am sending my messenger ahead of you to prepare your way.

I swear to you that I will cause someone from your own family to bring trouble to you. You will see it when I take your wives from you and give them to another man. He will have intercourse with them in broad daylight. You did this secretly. I will make this happen in broad daylight in front of all Israel.' David said to Nathan: I have sinned against Jehovah. Nathan replied: Jehovah has taken away your sin. You will not die. You have shown total contempt for Jehovah by this affair. Therefore the son that is born to you must die. Nathan went home. Jehovah struck the child that Uriah's wife had given birth to David. The child became sick.
But the priest Zadok, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, the prophet Nathan, Shimei, Rei, and David's thirty special guards did not join Adonijah.
But he did not invite the prophet Nathan, Benaiah, the special guard or his brother Solomon.
Zadok and Nathan are to anoint him as king of Israel. Then blow the trumpet and shout: Long live King Solomon!
So Zadok, Nathan, Benaiah, and the royal bodyguards put Solomon on King David's mule and escorted him to Gihon Spring.
The servant responded: There's a man of God in this city, a highly respected man. Everything he says is sure to happen. Let us go there. Maybe he will tell us which way we should go.
Then he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet. This took about four hundred and fifty years.
There was another man prophesying in the name of Jehovah. His name was Uriah, son of Shemaiah, from Kiriath Jearim. He prophesied against this city and this land as Jeremiah did.
The word of Jehovah (YHWH) came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet. It was in the eighth month, in the second year of Darius the king:
You are responsible for all the righteous blood shed on earth. That includes the blood of the righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar.
This includes the blood of Abel to the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. I tell you it will be required of this generation.
