The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers; each one shall be put to death for his own sin.
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine; the soul that sins, it shall die.
Against thee, against thee only, have I sinned and done this evil in thy sight that thou be declared just in thy word and pure in thy judgment. Behold, the pain of my iniquity has caused me to writhe; my mother conceived me so that sin might be removed from me.

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, speak to the sons of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring a sword upon the land and the people of the land take a man from within their borders and set him up as a watchman; and he should see the sword coming upon the land, if he should blow the shofar, and warn the people,read more.
then whoever hears the sound of the shofar and does not take warning; and the coming of the sword should take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth and warn them from me. When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die for his sin; but I will require his blood at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, if he does not turn from his way, he shall die for his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel: Ye speak thus, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we are consumed because of them. How should we then live? Say unto them, As I live, said the Lord GOD, I do not desire the death of the wicked but that the wicked turn from his way and that he live; turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? And thou, son of man, say unto the sons of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him the day that he rebels; and the wickedness of the wicked shall not impede him in the day that he turns from his wickedness; and the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness in the day that he sins. When I am saying to the righteous, Thou shalt shall surely live and he trusting in his own righteousness commits iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he has committed, he shall die for it. And, when I am saying unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turns from his sin, and does judgment and righteousness if the wicked restores the pledge, returns that which he had robbed, walks in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of his sins that he has committed shall be mentioned unto him. Has he lived according to judgment and righteousness? He shall surely live. Then the sons of thy people shall say, The way of the Lord is not straight: but their way is the one that is not straight. When the righteous turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he shall die thereby. And when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does judgment and righteousness, he shall live thereby. Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not straight. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you each one after his ways.
For the wages of sin is death, but the grace of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Therefore, in the manner which sin entered into the world by one man, and because of sin, death; and so death passed upon all men in the one in whom all sinned.

Moreover the law entered that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound,
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? No, in no wise. But, I did not know sin except by the law; for neither would I have known lust if the law did not say, Thou shalt not covet. Then sin, when there was occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of lust. For without the law sin was as if it were dormant. So that without the law I lived for some time; but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
For what then serves the law? It was added because of rebellions until the seed should come to whom the promise was made, and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
but I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother out of control shall be in danger of the judgment, and whosoever shall insult his brother shall be in danger of the council, but whosoever shall say, Thou art impious, shall be in danger of hell.
The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who shall know it? I the LORD search the heart; I try the kidneys, even to give each man according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.
But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Therefore, judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each one have praise of God.

And now, brethren, I know that through ignorance ye did it as did also your princes. But God has thus fulfilled those things which he had showed in advance by the mouth of all his prophets, that his Christ should suffer. Repent ye therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out, for the times of refreshing of the presence of the Lord are come;
For the invisible things of him, his eternal power and divinity, are clearly understood by the creation of the world and by the things that are made so that there is no excuse;
For the times of this ignorance God overlooked, but he now commands all men everywhere to repent
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, each one according to his ways, said the Lord GOD. Repent and turn yourselves from all your iniquities, so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens is at hand.
