So he used to say to the crowds that continued to come out there to be baptized by him: "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to escape from the wrath that is coming? Produce, then, fruit that is consistent with the repentance that you profess, and do not even begin to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our forefather,' for I tell you, God can raise up descendants for Abraham even out of these stones.

So let us keep our feast, not with old yeast nor with the yeast of vice and wickedness, but with the bread of purity and truth without the yeast.

For my boast is this, to which my conscience testifies, that before the world, but especially before you, I have acted from pure motives and in sincerity before God, not depending on worldly wisdom but on God's unmerited favor.

You slaves must practice obedience to your earthly masters, with reverence and awe, with sincerity of heart, as you would obey Christ, not serving them as though they were watching you, but as true slaves of Christ, trying to carry out the will of God. Heartily and cheerfully keep on working as slaves, as though it were for the Lord and not for men,

So if you eat or drink or do anything else, do everything to honor God.

I am not saying this in the spirit of a command, but I am simply trying to test the genuineness of your love by the enthusiasm of others.

Spiritual blessing be with all who have an undying love for our Lord Jesus Christ.

But the aim of your instruction is to be love that flows out of a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.

Your love must be true. You must always turn in horror from what is wrong, but keep on holding to what is right.

For our appeal did not originate from a delusion or an impure motive; it was not made in fraud; for since we have been so approved by God as to be entrusted with the good news, we are now telling it, not to please men but God, who proves and finds approved our hearts. and like new-born babies thirst for pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up to final salvation,

So once for all get rid of all malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all sorts of slander,

so that you may always approve the better things, and be men of transparent character and blameless life,
