But you must practice loving your enemies, doing good to them, and lending to them, despairing of nothing; so that your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

Take care that none of you ever pays back evil for evil, but always keep looking for ways to show kindness to one another and everybody.

and because of the increasing crime wave, most people's love will grow cold.

But I hold it against you that you do not love me as you did at first.

and so deserve censure for breaking their previous pledge.

For the Father loves the Son and shows Him everything that He Himself is doing, and He will show Him greater deeds than these, so that you will keep on wondering.

So Jesus said to them again: "I most solemnly say to you, I am the door to the sheepfold myself. All who came as such before me are thieves and robbers, but the true sheep would not listen to them. I am the door myself. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. read more.
A thief does not come for any purpose but to steal and kill and destroy; I have come for people to have life and have it till it overflows. I am the good shepherd myself. The good shepherd gives his own life for his sheep. The hired man, who is not a shepherd and does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away, and the wolf carries off some of the sheep and scatters the flock. This is because he is a hired man and does not care a straw for the sheep. I am the good shepherd myself. I know my sheep and my sheep know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father, and I am giving my own life for my sheep. I have other sheep too that do not belong to this fold. I must lead them too, and they will listen to my voice, and all my sheep will become one flock with one shepherd. This is why the Father loves me, because I am giving my own life to take it back again.

"You have heard that it was said, 'You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, practice loving your enemies and praying for your persecutors, to prove that you are sons of your Father in heaven, for He makes His sun rise on bad as well as good people, and makes the rain come down on doers of right and of wrong alike. read more.

She had a sister named Mary who took her seat at the Lord's feet, and remained listening to His message.

When Jesus came back to Bethany, to the home of Simon the leper, a woman with an alabaster bottle of very costly perfume came up to Him while He was at table and poured it upon His head. When the disciples saw it, they were very indignant, and said, "Why such waste? read more.
Surely it could have been sold for a large sum and the money given to the poor." But Jesus, because He understood them, said to them, "Why do you embarrass the woman? She has done a good deed to me, for you always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me. For in putting this perfume on my body she has done it to prepare me for my burial. Then Mary took a pound of expensive perfume, made of the purest oil, and poured it on Jesus' feet, and wiped them with her hair; and the whole house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples, who was going to betray Him, said, "Why was this perfume not sold for sixty dollars and the money given to the poor?" read more.
He said this, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief and as the carrier of the purse for the Twelve he was in the habit of taking what was put into it. Then Jesus said, "Let her alone; let her keep it for the day of my funeral, for you always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me."

We have worked hard with our own hands for a living. When abused by people, we bless them. When persecuted, we patiently bear it.
