Love never does a wrong to one's neighbor; so love is the perfect satisfaction of the law.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is so patient and so kind; love never boils with jealousy; it never boasts, is never puffed with pride; It does not act with rudeness, or insist upon its rights; it never gets provoked, it never harbors evil thoughts; Is never glad when wrong is done, but always glad when truth prevails; read more.
It bears up under anything; it exercises faith in everything; it keeps up hope in everything; it gives us power to endure in anything. Love never fails; if there are prophecies, they will be set aside; if now exist ecstatic speakings, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will soon be set aside;

Matthew 27:55-56

Now several women were there looking on from a distance, who accompanied Jesus from Galilee to care for Him, among them Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee's sons.

John 20:11-18

But Mary stood just outside the tomb and kept weeping. So, as she was weeping, she stooped down and peered into the tomb and saw seated there two angels in white robes, one at the head, one at the feet, where Jesus' body had lain. And they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have put Him." read more.
On saying this she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?" Because she supposed it was the gardener, she said to Him, "If it was you, sir, who carried Him away, tell me where you put Him, and I will remove Him." Jesus said to her, "Mary!" John 17:1-26

When Jesus had said all these things, He lifted His eyes to heaven and said: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that He may glorify you, just as you have given Him authority over all mankind to give eternal life to all whom you have given Him. Now eternal life means knowing you as the only true God and knowing Jesus your messenger as Christ. read more.
I have glorified you down here upon the earth by completing the work which you have given me to do. So now, Father, glorify me up there in your presence just as you did before the world existed. "I have made your very self known to the men whom you have given me out of the world. At first they were yours, but now you have given them to me, and they have obeyed your message. Now they have come to know that everything you have given me really comes from you; for I have given them the teachings that you gave me, and they have accepted them, and they have come to know in reality that I did come from you, and so they are convinced that you did send me. I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world now, but only for those whom you have given me, because they are yours -- really, all that is mine is yours, and all that is yours is mine -- and I have been glorified through them. And now I am no longer to be in the world, but they are to stay on in the world, while I am going to be with you. Holy Father, keep them by the power which you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are. As long as I was with them, I kept them by your power which you gave me, and I protected them, and not one of them was lost, except the one who is now doomed to be lost, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled. And now I am going to be with you, and I am saying these things while still in the world, that the joy which I experience may be fully experienced in their own souls. I have given them your message, and the world has hated them, because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to it. I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil in it. They do not belong to the world just as I do not belong to it. Consecrate them by your truth; your message is truth. Just as you have sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world, too. And so for their sake I am consecrating myself, that they too may be consecrated by truth. "I make this petition, not for them only, but for all who ever come to believe in me through their message, for them all to be one, just as you, Father, are in union with me and I in union with you, for them to be in union with us, so that the world may be convinced that you have sent me. I have given them the glory which you gave me, so that they may be one, just as we are, I in union with them and you in union with me, so that they may be perfectly united, and the world may be sure that you sent me and that you have loved them just as you have loved me. Father, I want to have those whom you have given me right where I am, in order that they may see the glory which you have given me, because you loved me before the creation of the world. Righteous Father, although the world did not know you, I did know you, and these men have come to know that you sent me, and I made known to them your very self, and I will make you known still further, so that the love which you have shown to me may be felt in them, and I in union with them."

John 14:23-31

Jesus answered him, "If anyone really loves me, he will observe my teaching, and my Father will love him, and both of us will come in face-to-face fellowship with him; yes, we will make our special dwelling place with him. Whoever does not really love me does not observe my teaching; and yet the teaching which you are listening to is not mine but comes from the Father who has sent me. "I have told you this while I am still staying with you. read more.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send to represent me, will teach you everything Himself, and cause you to remember everything that I have told you. I now leave you the blessing of peace, I give you the blessing of my own peace. I myself do not give it in the way the world gives it. Stop letting your hearts be troubled or timid. You have heard me say that I am going away and coming back to you; if you really loved me, you would rejoice over my telling you that I am going to the Father, because my Father is greater than I. And now I have told you this before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe in me. "I shall not talk much more with you, for the evil ruler of this world is coming and he has nothing in common with me, but he is coming that the world may know that I love the Father and am doing what the Father has ordered me to do. Get up and let us go away."

John 5:20

For the Father loves the Son and shows Him everything that He Himself is doing, and He will show Him greater deeds than these, so that you will keep on wondering.

John 10:7-17

So Jesus said to them again: "I most solemnly say to you, I am the door to the sheepfold myself. All who came as such before me are thieves and robbers, but the true sheep would not listen to them. I am the door myself. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. read more.
A thief does not come for any purpose but to steal and kill and destroy; I have come for people to have life and have it till it overflows. I am the good shepherd myself. The good shepherd gives his own life for his sheep. The hired man, who is not a shepherd and does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away, and the wolf carries off some of the sheep and scatters the flock. This is because he is a hired man and does not care a straw for the sheep. I am the good shepherd myself. I know my sheep and my sheep know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father, and I am giving my own life for my sheep. I have other sheep too that do not belong to this fold. I must lead them too, and they will listen to my voice, and all my sheep will become one flock with one shepherd. This is why the Father loves me, because I am giving my own life to take it back again.

Matthew 5:43-48

"You have heard that it was said, 'You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you, practice loving your enemies and praying for your persecutors, to prove that you are sons of your Father in heaven, for He makes His sun rise on bad as well as good people, and makes the rain come down on doers of right and of wrong alike. read more.
For if you practice loving only those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even the tax-collectors practice that? And if you say 'Good morning' to your brothers only, what more than others are you doing? So you, my followers, ought to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is."

Luke 6:27-35

But I say to you who listen now to me, practice loving your enemies, practice doing good to those who hate you, continue to bless those who curse you, and continue to pray for those who abuse you. To the man who strikes you on one cheek, offer him the other too; and from the man who takes away your coat, do not keep back your shirt either, read more.
Practice giving to everyone who asks of you, and stop demanding back your goods from him who takes them away. Yes, you must practice dealing with others as you would like them to deal with you. Now if you practice loving only those who love you, what credit do you get for that? Why, even notorious sinners practice loving those who love them. And if you practice doing good only to those who do good to you, what credit do you get for that? Even notorious sinners practice the same. And if you ever lend to people expecting to get it back, what credit do you get for that? Even notorious sinners practice lending to one another, expecting to get it back in full. But you must practice loving your enemies, doing good to them, and lending to them, despairing of nothing; so that your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

Luke 24:17-41

Then He said to them, "What is this that you are discussing together as you walk?" So they stopped and stood still with puzzled countenances. Finally one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered Him, "Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who has not heard of the things that have taken place there in these last days?" And He said to them, "What sort of things?" They answered Him, "The things about Jesus of Nazareth, who in the sight of God and of all the people became a prophet mighty in deed and word, read more.
and how the high priests and leading men turned Him over to be sentenced to death, and had Him crucified. But we kept hoping that He was the One who was coming to set Israel free. Moreover, besides all this, it is now the third day since these things occurred. Yes, indeed, some women of our number have astounded us! They went to the tomb early this morning and could not find His body, but came and told us that they had actually had a vision of angels who said He was alive. Then some of our company went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see Him." Then He said to them, "O men sluggish in mind and slow in heart to believe all that the prophets have said! Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and thus to enter into His glory?" Then He began with Moses and went through all the prophets and explained to them all the passages in the Scriptures about Himself. Then they approached the village to which they were going, and He acted as though He were going on farther, but they earnestly urged Him, and said, "Stop and stay with us, for it is getting toward evening and the day is nearly spent." So He went in to stay with them. And after He had taken His place at table with them, He took the loaf and blessed it and broke it in pieces and handed it to them. Then their eyes were instantly opened and they recognized Him, and at once He vanished from them. Then they said to each other, "Did not our hearts keep burning in our bosoms as He was talking to us on the road, as He went on explaining the Scriptures to us?" So at once they got up and went back to Jerusalem and found the Eleven and their company all together, who told them that the Lord had really risen and had been seen by Simon. Then they themselves began to tell what had occurred on the road, and how He was recognized by them when He broke the loaf in pieces. Even while they were talking about these things, He took His stand among them Himself, [and said to them, "Peace to you!"] and they were so startled and terror-stricken that they were beginning to think that they saw a ghost. But He said to them, "Why are you so disturbed and why are doubts arising in your hearts? Look at my hands and my feet, for it is I, myself. Feel of me and see for yourselves, for a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have." [After He had said this He showed them His hands and His feet.] So while they were still disbelieving for sheer joy and still wondering about it, He asked them, "Have you anything here to eat?"

She has done a good deed to me, for you always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me. For in putting this perfume on my body she has done it to prepare me for my burial. John 14:23-24

Love » Why love waxes cold

Love » The source of love

1 John 4:7-21

Dearly beloved, let us practice loving one another, because love originates with God, and everyone who practices loving is a child of God and knows God by experience. Whoever does not love has never come to know God by experience, because God is love. This is the way God's love for us has been shown, namely, God has sent His only Son into the world that we through Him might have life. read more.
In this way is seen the true love, not that we loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dearly beloved, if God has loved us so, we ought to love one another too. No one has ever seen God; yet if we practice loving one another, God remains in union with us, and our love for Him attains perfection in our hearts, By the fact that He has given us a portion of His Spirit we can be sure that we remain in union with Him and He in union with us. We have seen and now testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whoever owns that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in union with him and he in union with God. So we know by experience and trust the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever continues to love continues in union with God and God in union with him. Our love attains perfection through our having perfect confidence about the day of judgment, because here in this world we are living as He did. There is no fear in love, and perfect love drives out fear, because fear pertains to punishment, and no one who is subject to fear has attained perfection in love. We love, because He loved us first. If anyone says, "I love God," and yet habitually hates his brother, he is a liar; for whoever does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. This is the command that we get from Him, that whoever loves God loves his brother too.

Love » Who the love of God is perfected in

1 John 2:1-5

My dear children, I am writing you this so that you may not sin; yet if anyone ever sins, we have One who pleads our case with the Father, Jesus Christ, One who is righteous. And He is Himself the atoning sacrifice for our sins; and not for ours alone, but also for the whole world. By this we can be sure that we know Him -- if we practice obedience to His commands. read more.
Whoever says, "I know Him," but does not practice obedience to His commands is a liar, and there is no truth in his heart; but whoever practices obedience to His message really has a perfect love of God in his heart. By this we can be sure that we are in union with Him:

Love » Who shall abide in Christ’s love

John 15:1-10

"I am the real vine, and my Father is the cultivator. He cuts away any branch on me that stops bearing fruit, and He repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more. You are already pruned because of the teaching that I have given you. read more.
You must remain in union with me and I will remain in union with you. Just as no branch by itself can bear fruit unless it remains united to the vine, so you cannot unless you remain in union with me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in union with me and I in union with him will bear abundant fruit, because you cannot do anything cut off from union with me. If anyone does not remain in union with me, he is thrown away as a mere branch and is dried up; then it is picked up and thrown into the fire and burned up. If you remain in union with me and my words remain in you, you may ask whatever you please and you shall have it. By your continuously bearing abundant fruit and in this way proving yourselves to be real disciples of mine, my Father is glorified. I have loved you just as the Father has loved me. You must remain in my love. If you continue to keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in His love.
