I exhort therefore, that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made for all men:

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ, for you all, that your faith is spoken of through the whole world.

And the brethren having heard of us, came out thence to meet us, some as far as Appii Forum, and others to the Three Taverns, whom when Paul saw, he thanked God and took courage.

For your fellowship in the gospel, from the first day until now:

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because your faith groweth exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth.
