Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

and the second is like it, even this, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself:" there is no other commandment greater than these.

being filled with all injustice, lewdness, wickedness, covetousness, malignity; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and every evil habit; whisperers, slanderers, haters of God, injurious, haughty, proud, inventers of mischief, undutiful to parents, void of understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, and unmerciful:

And he also who received the one talent came to him and said, Sir, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou sowedst not, and gathering where thou hast not strewed; and I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the ground; behold, there is thine own: but his lord answered and said to him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strewed;

And the steward said in himself, What shall I do? now my master takes away the stewardship from me; I am not able to work, and I am ashamed to beg. I know what I will do, that when I am turned out of my place, they may receive me into their houses. And he said to him, Take thy bill, and sit down and write but fifty. Then he said to another, And how much owest thou? and he said, an hundred measures of wheat: and he said to him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore. And his master commended the dishonest steward as having acted prudently: for the men of this world are as to their affairs wiser than the children of light. And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends with these unrighteous treasures, that when they fail, ye may be received into everlasting habitations. He, that is faithful in the lest, is faithful also in much: and he, that is unjust in the lest, is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the false riches, who will intrust you with the true? and if ye have not been faithful in that which was another's, who will give you that which is your own?

But Zaccheus stood up and said unto Jesus, Behold, Lord, the half of my substance I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any one wrongfully, I restore him fourfold.

And the scribes and pharisees brought to Him a woman taken in adultery; and setting her in the midst, they said to Him, "This woman was caught in the very act, committing adultery. Now Moses in the law has commanded us that such women should be stoned, but what sayest Thou?"

but I say unto you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, except on account of whoredom, tempteth her to commit adultery; and if any man marry her that is divorced, he committeth adultery.

and I tell you, that whosoever putteth away his wife, except for whoredom, and marrieth another, committeth adultery; and he that marrieth her so put away committeth adultery.

Brother shall betray his brother to death, and the father his child: and children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death:

One brother shall betray another to death, and the father the son: and children shall appear against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

But ye shall be betrayed even by parents, and brethren, and kindred and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death:

From this time many of his disciples went away, and walked no more with Him.

Behold, the time is coming, and is even now come, that ye shall be dispersed every one his own way, and shall leave me alone: but I am not alone, for the Father is with me.

Then saith Jesus unto them, Ye will all take offence at me this night; for it is written, "I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered:"

And Jesus saith unto them, Ye will all of you be made to offend on my account this night; for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered:

that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.

And the disciples all forsook Him and fled: but there followed Him a certain youth,

And while He was yet speaking, behold, Judas one of the twelve came, and with him a great number, with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people: (now he that betrayed Him, had given them a signal, saying, The man whom I shall kiss is He, lay hold of Him:) and going directly up to Jesus, he said, Hail master, and kissed Him.read more.
And Jesus said to him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? then they came up and laid hands on Jesus, and apprehended Him.

And immediately while He was yet speaking cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests, and scribes, and elders: (Now the traitor had given them a sign, saying, The man, whom I shall kiss, is He; lay hold of Him and lead Him away safely:) and as soon as he came, he went directly up to Him and said, Master, Master; and kissed Him.read more.
And they laid their hands on Him, and apprehended Him.

And while He was yet speaking, behold a multitude; and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve apostles, came before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss Him: and Jesus said to him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?

knew the place: for Jesus often met there together with his disciples: Judas therefore having got a band of soldiers, and officers from the chief priests and pharisees, cometh thither with candles, and lamps, and arms. Upon which Jesus, who knew all that was coming upon Him, went forth and said unto them, Whom do ye seek? They answered Him, Jesus the Nazarene.read more.
Jesus saith unto them, I am He. And Judas that betrayed Him, was standing with them.

then he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

But he began to curse and swear saying, I do not know this man of whom ye speak: And the cock crowed a second time. Then Peter called to mind the word which Jesus had said to him, Before the cock crow twice thou wilt deny me thrice. And he covered his face and wept.

And about an hour after, another confidently affirmed saying, In truth this fellow also was with Him; for he is a Galilean too: but Peter answered, Man, I know not what thou sayst. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, the cock crew. And the Lord turned and looked upon Peter; and Peter called to mind the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, Before the cock crow thou wilt deny me thrice.

Then said one of the servants of the high-priest, kinsman to him whose ear Peter cut off, Did not I see thee in the garden with Him? Peter then denied it again, and immediately the cock crew.

Thou knowest that all those of Asia are turned from me, of whom is Phygellus and Hermogenes.

Endeavour to come to me soon: for Demas hath forsaken me, through love of this world, and is gone to Thessalonica; as is Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia: Luke only is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is useful to me in the ministry.
