And the chief priests likewise scoffing at Him among themselves, with the scribes, said, He saved others, Himself He cannot save: let Christ,read more.
the king of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe in Him. And even they that were crucified with Him, reviled Him.

In my first defence no one stood by me, but all men forsook me: God grant it may not be laid to their charge!

and as He came near to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carrying out to be buried, his mother's only son, and she was a widow: and many of the people of the city were with her.

Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremias the prophet, saying, In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel bewailing her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

Now she, that is really a widow and desolate, hopeth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.

And when He was landed, there met Him a man out of the city, who had been possessed by demons a long while, and wore no clothes, and abode in no dwelling but the tombs.

And when He was come out of the ship, immediately there met Him from the tombs, a man with an impure spirit, who kept among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains:

And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? and he said, Legion: because many demons were entred into him.

And a certain man who had been lame from his birth was carried along; whom they laid every day at the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of those that were going into the temple:

And as they were going out, there was brought to Him a dumb man, a demoniac:

Then was brought to Him a demoniac, who was blind and dumb; and he healed Him, so that the blind and dumb man both spake and saw:

and as He entered into a certain village, there met Him ten men that were lepers:

And when he had spent all, there happen'd a grievous famine in that country, and he began to be in want. And he went and let himself to one of the people of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would gladly have filled his belly with the husks which the swine did eat: and no man relieved him.

For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things future, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed at it, and afraid to follow Him. And again taking the twelve aside, He began to tell them what things should befal Him,

And as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them, Behold we are going up to Jerusalem, and the son of man shall be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they shall condemn Him to death, and deliver Him up to the gentiles, to insult, and to scourge, and to crucify Him. But on the third day He shall rise again.

that which besets me daily, the care of all the churches.

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani," that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Now at the sixth hour there was darkness over the whole land, until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani," which is being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Then was Jesus led by the spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted by the devil: and when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, at last He was very hungry.

Now Jesus being full of the holy Spirit, returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted by the devil; and He did eat nothing in all those days: and when they were ended, at last He was hungry.

and when He had dismissed them, He went up to a hill in private to pray.

And all the synagogue were filled with rage, when they heard these things, and they rose up and drove Him out of the city, and dragged Him to the brow of the hill, on which their city was built, in order to throw Him down the precipice. But He passed through the midst of them, and went away.

Jesus therefore said to the twelve, Have ye also a mind to go away?

Behold, the time is coming, and is even now come, that ye shall be dispersed every one his own way, and shall leave me alone: but I am not alone, for the Father is with me.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret, will reward thee openly.

And going a little farther, He prostrated himself, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.

And in the morning, before it was light, He rose up and went out, and retired into a solitary place, and there prayed.

And immediately He obliged his disciples to get into the ship, and to go before Him to the other side to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the people: and when He had sent them away, He retired into a mountain to pray.

I John, who am also your brother, and companion in the affliction, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the island called Patmos, for the sake of the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

And after six days Jesus taketh with Him Peter, and James, and John, and bringeth them up by themselves to a high mountain apart; and was transfigured before them:

I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago (whether in the body, or out of the body, I know not, God knoweth) such a one caught up to the third heaven. And I know such a man (whether then in the body, or out of the body, I know not, God knoweth) that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unutterable words, which it is not permitted unto man to speak.

And He said to them, Come ye yourselves apart into a retired place, and rest a little: for there were many coming and going, and they had not time even to eat. And they went away privately in a ship into a desert place.

Come unto me therefore all ye who are labouring and oppressed, and I will give you ease.
