Yet in all this you did not trust Jehovah your God. He went ahead of you to find places for you to camp. He offered fire by night and cloud by day to show you the way you should go.

O Timothy, guard that which is committed to you. Turn away from the empty speeches that violate what is holy and from opposition and from false knowledge. Some have professed this knowledge and erred concerning the faith. Grace be with you.

Pay close attention to the things heard so we do not drift away.

However, you are a God of forgiveness, full of grace and pity, slow to wrath and great in mercy, and you did not give them up.

Do not harden your hearts, as in the day of strife, as in the day of testing in the wilderness. Your fathers tempted me, tested me, and saw my work.

Why have we gone from your memory forever? Why have you turned away from us for so long?

Be careful, brothers and sisters, that none of you develop a wicked heart lacking faith and turning away (departing) from the living God. Encourage yourselves each day, as long as it is called Today, that none of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good Word of God, and the powers of the age to come, if they shall fall away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance. This is because they personally impale the Son of God again, and expose him to public shame.

After they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled and overcome; the last state is worse with them than the first. For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.
