Understand today that Jehovah your God is the one who is going ahead of you like a consuming (raging) (devouring) fire. He will wipe them out. Then he will use you to crush their power. You will take possession of their land and will quickly destroy them as Jehovah promised you.
let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Hope (wait) (expect) (trust) in Jehovah and be strong. Let your heart be courageous. Yes, hope in Jehovah.
The Lord Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, says: Return to me and be saved. You can have rest. You can be strong by being quiet and by trusting me. But you do not want that!
An act of righteousness will bring about peace and security forever. My people will live in a peaceful place, in safe homes and quiet places of rest.
He appointed military commanders over the troops and gathered the commanders in the square by the city gate. He spoke these words of encouragement: Be strong and courageous. He beat his breast, saying: God, be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you the tax collector and not the Pharisee was right with God when he went home. He who exalts himself will be humbled! He who humbles himself will be exalted!
