And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.

since his disciples had gone off into town to buy food.

Then the woman left her water jar, went off into the town and said to the people,

Jesus *said to him, “Go; your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started off.

The man went off and told the Jewish leaders that it was Jesus who had made him well.

Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:

Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there will be an offensive odor, for he has been dead four days! [It is hopeless!]”

though some of them went off to the Pharisees and told them what He had done.

Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.

So she ran off and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, whom Jesus kept loving. She told them, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!"

So Peter and the other disciple took off for the tomb.

and the other disciples came by the little boat, for they were not far from the land, but as it were about two hundred cubits off, dragging the net of the fishes;

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called the mount of Olives, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath-day's journey off.

So in the present case, I say to you, stay away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or action is of men [merely human in origin], it will fail and be destroyed;

They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; so they came, dragged him off, and took him to the Sanhedrin.

Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.

dragged him out of the city, and stoned him, the witnesses throwing off their outer garments and giving them into the care of a young man called Saul.

When Saul got up off the ground, he couldn't see anything, even though his eyes were open. So his companions took him by the hand and led him into Damascus.

and his hearers were all amazed, and began to ask one another, "Is not this the man who in Jerusalem tried to exterminate those who called upon that Name, and came here on purpose to carry them off in chains to the High Priests?"

When the brothers found out, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.

The news about them reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas off to Antioch.

And they determined, according as any one of the disciples was well off, each of them to send to the brethren who dwelt in Judaea, to minister to them;

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

And they said to her, You are off your head. But still she said, with decision, that it was so. And they said, It is his angel.

Then, throwing off all reserve, Paul and Barnabas said, "We were bound to proclaim God's Message to you first. But since you spurn it and judge yourselves to be unworthy of the Life of the Ages--well, we turn to the Gentiles.

But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium.

Then, being sent off, they went down to Antioch, and after gathering the assembly, they delivered the letter.

After they had spent some time there, they were sent off in peace by the brothers to those who had sent them.

There was such a sharp disagreement that they parted company, and Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed off to Cyprus.

And we, having gone before on board ship, sailed off to Assos, going to take in Paul there; for so he had directed, he himself being about to go on foot.

Sailing from there, the next day we arrived off Chios. The following day we crossed over to Samos, and the day after, we came to Miletus.

When, however, our time was up, we left and went on our way, all the disciples and their wives and children coming to see us off. Then, after kneeling down on the beach and praying,

who, at once, having taken soldiers and centurions, ran down upon them, and they having seen the chief captain and the soldiers, did leave off beating Paul.

as also the high priest and all the Council of the elders can testify. From them I also received letters to the brethren, and started off for Damascus in order to bring even those who were there to Jerusalem as prisoners to be punished.

They listened to him up to this word. Then they raised their voices, shouting, “Wipe this person off the earth—it’s a disgrace for him to live!”

And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,

But Felix, having a more exact knowledge about the Way, put them off, saying, “When Lysias the commander comes down, I will decide your case.”

Therefore, if I am guilty and have committed anything worthy of death, I do not try to escape death; but if there is nothing to the accusations which these men are bringing against me, no one can hand me over to them. I appeal to Caesar (Emperor Nero).”

When therefore they had come together here, without putting it off, I sat the next day on the judgment-seat and commanded the man to be brought:

And when he made his answer in these words, Festus said in a loud voice, Paul, you are off your head; your great learning has made you unbalanced.

Then Paul said, I am not off my head, most noble Festus, but my words are true and wise.

After sailing through the open sea off Cilicia and Pamphylia, we reached Myra in Lycia.

Sailing slowly for many days, we came with difficulty as far as Cnidus. Since the wind did not allow us to approach it, we sailed along the south side of Crete off Salmone.

After hoisting the skiff [on board], they used support lines [for frapping] to undergird and brace the ship’s hull; and fearing that they might run aground on the shallows of Syrtis [off the north coast of Africa], they let down the sea anchor and lowered the sails and were driven along [backwards with the bow into the wind].

Then fearing that we might run aground somewhere on the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern [to slow the ship] and kept wishing for daybreak to come.

Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.

After casting off the anchors, they left them in the sea, at the same time loosening the ropes that held the rudders. Then they hoisted the foresail to the wind and headed for the beach.

The soldiers’ plan was to kill the prisoners so that no one could swim away and escape.

But the captain, desiring to keep Paul safe, kept them from their purpose, and gave orders that those who had knowledge of swimming were to go off the ship and get first to land:

From there we cast off and arrived at Rhegium, and after one day a south wind sprang up and on the second day we came to Puteoli.

How then is the Jew better off? or what profit is there in circumcision?

What, then, does this mean? Are we Jews any better off? Not at all! For we have already accused everyone, both Jews and Greeks, of being under the power of sin.

I say then, Did God cast off his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

God did not cast off his people which he foreknew. Or know ye not what the scripture saith of Elijah? how he pleadeth with God against Israel:

And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.

Having finished this therefore, and having sealed to them this fruit, I will set off by you into Spain.

However, when we are among mature people, we do speak a message of wisdom, but not the wisdom of this world or of the rulers of this world, who are passing off the scene.

However, food will not bring us closer to God. We are no worse off if we do not eat food that has been offered to an idol, and no better off if we do.

but I hit hard and straight at my own body and lead it off into slavery, lest possibly, after I have been a herald to others, I should myself be rejected.

For if a woman does not cover herself, let her [hair] be shorn off. But if [it is] shameful for a woman to [have her head] shorn or shaved, let her cover her [head].

You know that when you were pagans, you were led off after speechless idols; however you were led off [whether by impulse or habit].

So allow no one to treat him with disdain [as if he were inconsequential]. But send him off [cordially, and speed him on his way] in peace, so that he may come to me, for I am expecting him [to come along] with the other brothers.

if indeed, even [after we] have taken [it] off, we will not be found naked.

So while we are still in this tent, we sigh under our burdens, because we do not want to put it off but to put it on, so that our dying bodies may be swallowed up by life.

We have not cut you off, but you have cut off your own feelings toward us.

And I am not saying this so that others may get off free, while the weight comes on you:

For you tolerate it, if any one enslaves you, lives at your expense, makes off with your property, gives himself airs, or strikes you on the face.

{For in what respect are you made worse off} more than the rest of the churches, except that I myself was not a burden to you? Forgive me this wrong!
