'People' in the Bible

You ascended to the heights, taking away captives;You received gifts from people,even from the rebellious,so that the Lord God might live there.

People have seen Your procession, God,the procession of my God,my King, in the sanctuary.

He will judge Your people with righteousnessand Your afflicted ones with justice.

May the mountains bring prosperity to the peopleand the hills, righteousness.

May there be plenty of grain in the land;may it wave on the tops of the mountains.May its crops be like Lebanon.May people flourish in the citieslike the grass of the field.

They are not in trouble like others;they are not afflicted like most people.

Therefore His people turn to themand drink in their overflowing words.

If I had decided to say these things aloud,I would have betrayed Your people.

Remember this: the enemy has mocked Yahweh,and a foolish people has insulted Your name.

Do not give the life of Your dove to beasts;do not forget the lives of Your poor people forever.

The Lord made His people very fruitful;He made them more numerous than their foes,

whose hearts He turned to hate His peopleand to deal deceptively with His servants.

Remember me, Lord,when You show favor to Your people.Come to me with Your salvation

I applied my mind to seek and explore through wisdom all that is done under heaven. God has given people this miserable task to keep them occupied.

I explored with my mind how to let my body enjoy life with wine and how to grasp folly—my mind still guiding me with wisdom—until I could see what is good for people to do under heaven during the few days of their lives.

I have seen the task that God has given people to keep them occupied.

I know that all God does will last forever; there is no adding to it or taking from it. God works so that people will be in awe of Him.

I said to myself, “This happens concerning people, so that God may test them and they may see for themselves that they are like animals.”

For the fate of people and the fate of animals is the same. As one dies, so dies the other; they all have the same breath. People have no advantage over animals since everything is futile.
