Jonathan Intercedes For David

⁶ Saul listened to Jonathan and swore [an oath], “As the Lord lives, he shall not be put to death.” ⁷ So Jonathan called David and told him all these things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence [serving him] as previously. ⁸ Then there was war again, and David went out and fought with the Philistines and defeated them with a great slaughter, and they fled before him.
