Shishak Of Egypt Invades Jerusalem

5 Shemaiah the prophet approached Rehoboam and the princes of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak. He said to them: Jehovah says: 'You have forsaken me, so I also have forsaken you to Shishak.' 6 So the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, “The Lord is righteous.” 7 Jehovah saw that they humbled themselves. The word of Jehovah came to Shemaiah. He said: They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them. I will grant them deliverance. I will not use Shishak to pour out my anger on Jerusalem.
