Genesis 22:1

God Tests Abraham

¹ After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!”

“Here I am,” he answered. ² “Take your son,” He said, “your only son Isaac, whom you love, go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.”

Deuteronomy 8:2

Remember that the Lord your God led you on the entire journey these 40 years in the wilderness, so that He might humble you and test you to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep His commands.

Exodus 3:4

He made a statute and ordinance for them at Marah and He tested them there.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “I am going to rain bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. This way I will test them to see whether or not they will follow My instructions.

Deuteronomy 8:16

He fed you in the wilderness with manna that your fathers had not known, in order to humble and test you, so that in the end He might cause you to prosper.

Deuteronomy 13:3
