1 And Joseph could no longer refrain before all them that stood about him, but commanded that they should go all out from him, and that there should be no man with him, while he uttered himself unto his brethren.
1 Then Joseph could not control himself before all those who stood by him, and he cried, “Have everyone go out from me.” So there (a)was no man with him (A)when Joseph made himself known to his brothers.
1 Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.
1 Joseph could no longer keep his composure in front of all his attendants,(a) so he called out, “Send everyone away from me!” No one was with him when he revealed his identity to his brothers.(A)
1 At this point, Joseph could not control his emotions any longer, so he cried out to everyone who was standing nearby, "Everybody! Leave me!" As a result, none of his staff was anywhere near him when he revealed himself to his brothers.
2 And he wept aloud, so that the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard it.
2 And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.
2 But he wept so loudly that the Egyptians heard it, and also Pharaoh’s household heard it.

3 And he said unto his brethren, "I am Joseph: doth my father yet live?" But his brethren could not answer him, for they were abashed at his presence.
3 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “(C)I am Joseph! (D)Is my father still alive?” But his brothers could not answer him, for (E)they were dismayed at his presence.
3 And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; doth my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.
3 Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Is my father still living?” But they could not answer him because they were terrified in his presence.
3 Joseph blurted out, "I'm Joseph! Is my father really alive?" But his brothers could not answer him, because they had become terrified to be in his presence.
4 And Joseph said unto his brethren, "Come near to me." And they came near. And he said, "I am Joseph your brother whom ye sold into Egypt.
4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come (c)closer to me.” And they came (d)closer. And he said, “I am your brother Joseph, whom you (F)sold into Egypt.
4 And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.
4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Please, come near me,” and they came near. “I am Joseph, your brother,” he said, “the one you sold into Egypt.(B)
4 Joseph implored his brothers, "Please come close to me." So they did.
5 And now be not grieved therewith, neither let it seem a cruel thing in your eyes, that ye sold me hither. For God did send me before you to save life.
5 Now do not be grieved or angry (e)with yourselves, because (G)you sold me here, for (H)God sent me before you to preserve life.
5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
5 And now don’t be worried or angry with yourselves for selling me here, because God sent me ahead of you to preserve life.(C)
5 "I'm your brother Joseph, whom you sold into slavery in Egypt!" he told them. "But don't be distressed or angry at yourselves because you sold me here, because God sent me ahead of you all in order to deliver us.
6 For this is the second year of dearth in the land, and five more are behind in which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
6 For the famine has been in the land (I)these two years, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting.
6 For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.

7 Wherefore God sent me before you to make provision, that ye might continue in the earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

8 So now it was not ye that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me father unto Pharaoh and lord over all his house, and ruler in all the land of Egypt.
8 Now, therefore, it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a (K)father to Pharaoh and lord of all his household and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

9 Haste you and go to my father and tell him, 'This sayeth thy son Joseph: God hath made me lord over all Egypt. Come down unto me and tarry not.
9 Hurry and go up to my father, and (L)say to him, ‘Thus says your son Joseph, “God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not delay.
9 Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me, tarry not:
9 “Return quickly to my father and say to him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: “God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me without delay.
9 So hurry up, go back to my father, and tell him that his son Joseph tells him, "God has made me master of all of Egypt. Hurry up! Come live with me!'
10 And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen and be by me: both thou and thy children, and thy children's children: and thy sheep, and beasts and all that thou hast.
10 You shall (g)live in the land of (M)Goshen, and you shall be near me, you and your children and your children’s children and your flocks and your herds and all that you have.
10 And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou, and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast:
10 You can settle in the land of Goshen(D) and be near me—you, your children, and grandchildren, your sheep, cattle, and all you have.
10 You are to live in the land of Goshen, near where I am you, your children, your grandchildren, your flocks, your herds, and everything that you own.
11 There will I make provision for thee: for there remain yet five years of dearth, lest thou and thy household and all that thou hast perish.'
11 There I will also (N)provide for you, for there are still five years of famine to come, and you and your household and all that you have would be impoverished.”’

11 I'll provide for you there, since there are still five years of famine left to go, and you, your households, and everything you own would have otherwise become impoverished.
12 Behold, your eyes do see, and the eyes also of my brother Benjamin, that I speak to you by mouth.
12 Behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin see, that it is my mouth which is speaking to you.
12 And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you.
12 Look! Your eyes and my brother Benjamin’s eyes can see that it is I , Joseph, who am(c) speaking to you.
12 "Look, now! All of you can see me! And my own brother Benjamin can tell that it's really me speaking to you!
13 Therefore, tell my father of all my honour which I have in Egypt and of all that ye have seen, and make haste and bring in father hither."
13 Now you must tell my father of all my splendor in Egypt, and all that you have seen; and you must hurry and (O)bring my father down here.”
13 And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father hither.
13 Tell my father about all my glory in Egypt and about all you have seen. And bring my father here quickly.”(F)
13 So go tell my father about all of my splendor in Egypt. Tell him about everything that you've seen. Be quick about it, and bring my father down here!"
14 And he fell on his brother Benjamin's neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck.
14 And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck.
14 Then Joseph threw his arms around Benjamin and wept, and Benjamin wept on his shoulder.
14 Then he threw his arms around Benjamin and wept as they embraced.
15 Moreover, he kissed all his brethren and wept upon them. And after that, his brethren talked with him.

16 And the fame thereof was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, Joseph's brethren are come: and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.
16 When the news reached Pharaoh’s palace, “Joseph’s brothers have come,” Pharaoh and his servants were pleased.
16 As soon as the news reached Pharaoh's palace that Joseph's brothers had arrived, Pharaoh and his servants were ecstatic.
17 And Pharaoh spake unto Joseph, "Say unto thy brethren, 'This do ye: lade your beasts and get you hence. And when ye be come unto the land of Canaan,
17 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Say to your brothers, ‘Do this: load your beasts and (k)go to the land of Canaan,
17 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan;
17 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers, ‘Do this: Load your animals and go on back to the land of Canaan.
17 Pharaoh told Joseph, "Be sure to tell your brothers, "Do this: load up your livestock, go back to the land of Canaan,
18 take your father and your households and come unto me, and I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.'"
18 and take your father and your households and come to me, and (R)I will give you the (l)best of the land of Egypt and you will eat the fat of the land.’

19 In addition," Pharaoh ordered, "Do this: take some transport wagons from the land of Egypt for your little ones to ride in, along with your wives, and bring your father and come!
20 Also, regard not your stuff, for the goods of all the land of Egypt shall be yours."
20 Do not (n)concern yourselves with your goods, for the (o)best of all the land of Egypt is yours.’”
20 Also regard not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.
20 Don't worry about your household goods, because the best of all the land of Egypt is yours."
21 And the children of Israel did even so. And Joseph gave them chariots at the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them victuals also to spend by the way.
21 Then the sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them (T)wagons according to the (p)command of Pharaoh, and gave them provisions for the journey.

24 So sent he his brethren away, and they departed. And he said unto them, "See that ye fall not out by the way."

25 And they departed from Egypt and came into the land of Canaan unto Jacob their father, and told him, saying,

26 "Joseph is yet alive and is governor over all the land of Egypt." And Jacob's heart wavered, for he believed them not.
26 They told him, saying, “Joseph is still alive, and indeed he is ruler over all the land of Egypt.” But (w)he was stunned, for (W)he did not believe them.
26 And told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacob's heart fainted, for he believed them not.
26 They said, “Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt!” Jacob was stunned,(e) for he did not believe them.
26 where they informed their father, "Joseph is still alive! As a matter of fact, he's ruling the entire land of Egypt." But Jacob didn't believe them, because he had become cynical.
27 And they told him all the words of Joseph which he had said unto them. But when he saw the chariots which Joseph had sent to carry him, then his spirits revived.
27 When they told him all the words of Joseph that he had spoken to them, and when he saw the (X)wagons that Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of their father Jacob revived.
27 And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived:
27 But when they told Jacob all that Joseph had said to them, and when he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent to transport him, the spirit of their father Jacob revived.
27 However, as soon as his sons had told him everything Joseph had said, and after he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent along to carry him, their father Jacob's spirit was encouraged.
28 And Israel said, "I have enough, if Joseph my son be yet alive: I will go and see him, yer that I die."
28 Then Israel said, “It is enough; my son Joseph is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”
28 And Israel said, It is enough; Joseph my son is yet alive: I will go and see him before I die.
28 Then Israel said, “Enough! My son Joseph is still alive. I will go to see him before I die.”
28 "It's enough," Israel replied. "My son Joseph is still alive. I'm going to go see him before I die!"
