The Parable Of The Tenant Farmers In The Vineyard

⁹ He told the people an illustration: A man planted a vineyard. He rented it to tenants and went to another country for a long time. ¹⁰ At the harvest time he sent a slave to the vine-growers, so that they would give him some of the produce of the vineyard; but the vine-growers beat him and sent him away empty-handed. ¹¹ He sent another servant who was also treated shamefully, beaten and sent away empty.

Jehovah the God of their ancestors repeatedly sent messages through his prophets because he wanted to spare his people and his dwelling place.
