Jesus Brought Before Pilate

¹ The whole company of them rose up and brought him before Pilate. ² And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.” ³ Pilate asked him: Are you King of the Jews? He answered him: You say it.

John 19:12

As a result of this Pilate sought to release him. The Jews cried out: If you release this man you are not Caesar's friend. Every one that makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.
