blessed art thou among women! and when she saw him, she was confused at what he said, and pondered in her mind what sort of salutation this could be.

Therefore said one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, who was about to betray Him, Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence and given to the poor? read more.
He said this, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the common purse he carried what was put into it. Jesus therefore said, Let her alone, she hath reserved this as for the day of my burial. For the poor ye have always with you, but me ye have not always.

And Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of Joses observed where He was laid.

Now after the sabbath, in the dawning towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, to look at the sepulchre:

and some women that had been cured of evil spirits and other infirmities, as Mary Magdalene, out of whom were cast seven demons,

among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children.

So Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples, that she had seen the Lord, and that He had said these things to her.


And Mary taking a pound of ointment of spikenard of great value, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped them with her hair; and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the feet of Jesus, attending to his discourse.

Then Mary, when she came where Jesus was and saw Him, fell down at his feet, saying unto Him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

Now there was a certain person sick, to wit, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and Martha her sister.

Therefore Martha, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went to meet Him: but Mary was sitting in the house.


Now it was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, that told these things to the apostles:

There were also women at a distance looking on: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

And they said to her, Woman, why dost thou weep? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid Him.


Now Jesus being risen early on the first day of the week appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven devils:

And they went immediately from the sepulchre, with fear, and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. And as they were going to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them and said, God save you. And they drew near and embraced his feet, and worshipped Him. Then saith Jesus unto them, Be not afraid, go tell my brethren to repair into Galilee, and there they shall see me.

And having said this, she turned back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus. Then said Jesus to her, Woman, why dost thou weep? whom dost thou seek? She thinking that it was the gardener, saith to Him, Sir, if thou hast carried Him hence, tell me where thou hast laid Him, and I will take Him away. for He that is mighty hath done great things for me, and his name is holy, and his mercy is on them that fear Him, unto all generations. He hath wrought powerfully with his arm; He hath confounded those that were proud in the imagination of their heart. He hath cast down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the humble. He hath filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He hath sent away empty. He hath supported Israel his servant, in remembrance of his mercy (even as He promised to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed,) for ever."

And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the feet of Jesus, attending to his discourse. But Martha, being perplexed about much serving, came to Him and said, Lord, dost thou not regard it, that my sister has left me to serve alone? speak to her therefore that she may help me. read more.
