for He hath put all things under his feet. But when He saith that all things are put under Him, it is plain that we are to except Him who put all things under Him. And when all things shall be subjected to Him, then shall the Son also himself be subject to Him, that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.
Who in the days of his flesh, offered prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears, to Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in what He feared; but though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered: and being thus perfected,
Wherefore upon his coming into the world He saith, "Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire, but a body hast thou prepared me: in whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure: then said I, Lo I come, as in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do thy will, O God."
Let the same mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be as God. Yet He emptied himself, assuming the form of a servant, when made in the likeness of men:
As the church then is subject to Christ, so also should wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
and hath put all things under his feet, and given Him to be head over all things to the church; which is his body, the complete work of Him, who filleth all in all.
And He is the head of the body, which is the church: who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in all things He might have the pre-eminence.
And let the peace of God preside in your hearts, to which ye are also called as united in one body: and be thankful for it.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a mirror, who beheld himself, and went away, and immediately forgot what manner of man he was.read more.
But he that looketh well into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
I testify to every one that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any one add to these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: and if any one take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things that are written in this book.
Be ruled by those that are your guides, and submit to them: for they watch for your souls; (as those that must give an account) that they may do it with joy and not with uneasiness: for this were unprofitable for you.
Let every soul be subject to the powers that are over them: for there is no such power but from God: the powers that are over men, are appointed by God.
I beseech you, brethren, (for ye know the family of Stephanas, that they are the first-fruits of Achaia, and have set themselves to minister to the saints) that you also would be subservient to such, and to every one that worketh and laboureth with us.

Wherefore it is necessary to submit, not only on account of punishment, but also of conscience. For you pay them tribute also for this reason; because they are God's ministers, continually attending hereunto. Render therefore to all what is their due: tribute to whom tribute is due, custom to whom custom, reverence to whom reverence, honor to whom honor.
Admonish them to be submissive to governors and magistrates, to obey their orders, and to be ready to every good work;
Be subject therefore to every human form of government, for the Lord's sake: whether it be to a king as supreme; or to governors as persons sent by him for the punishment of evil-doers, and the praise of them that do well.
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord: for the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and the saviour of that body. As the church then is subject to Christ, so also should wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

Servants, obey them that are your masters according to the flesh, with reverential fear, in the simplicity of your heart, as unto Christ: not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; with good-will, as serving the Lord rather than men:read more.

Servants, be obedient in all things to your lawful masters, not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but in uprightness of heart, fearing God; and whatever service ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men; knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord Christ;

Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and let the wife reverence her husband.
And ye fathers, do not exasperate your children: but educate them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
This then I exhort thee first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings he made for all men; particularly for kings, and all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all piety and virtue.
The elders that are among you I exhort, who am also an elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker of the glory which shall be revealed; feed the flock of God that is among you, taking the episcopal charge of it, not by constraint, but willingly; not for shameful lucre, but with a ready mind: nor as lording it over the people, but being examples to the flock.read more.
