Do Not Pass Judgment On One Another
1 I now pass to another subject. Receive as a friend a man whose faith is weak, but not for the purpose of deciding mere matters of opinion.
1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
1 Now (A)accept the one who is (B)weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions.
1 Accept anyone who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of arguing over differences of opinion.
3 Let not him who eats certain food look down upon him who abstains from it, nor him who abstains from it find fault with him who eats it; for God has received both of them.
3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
3 The one who eats is not to (E)regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to (F)judge the one who eats, for God has (G)accepted him.
3 One who eats must not look down on one who does not eat,(D) and one who does not eat must not criticize one who does,(E) because God has accepted him.(F)
3 The person who eats any kind of food must not ridicule the person who does not eat them, and the person who does not eat certain foods must not criticize the person who eats them, for God has accepted him.
4 Who are you that you should find fault with the servant of another? Whether he stands or falls is a matter which concerns his own master. But stand he will; for the Master can give him power to stand.
4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
4 (H)Who are you to judge the (a)servant of another? To his own (b)master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
4 Who are you to criticize(G) another’s household slave? Before his own Lord he stands or falls. And he will stand. For the Lord is able(b) to make him stand.
4 Who are you to criticize someone else's servant? He stands or falls before his own Lord and stand he will, because the Lord makes him stand.
5 One man esteems one day more highly than another; another esteems all days alike. Let every one be thoroughly convinced in his own mind.
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
5 (I)One person (c)regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be (J)fully convinced in his own mind.
5 One person considers one day to be above another day.(H) Someone else considers every day to be the same. Each one must be fully convinced in his own mind.(I)
5 One person decides in favor of one day over another, while another person decides that all days are the same. Let each one be fully convinced in his own mind:
6 He who regards the day as sacred, so regards it for the Master's sake; and he who eats certain food eats it for the Master's sake, for he gives thanks to God; and he who refrains from eating it refrains for the Master's sake, and he also gives thanks to God.
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
6 He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, (d)does so for the Lord, for he (K)gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God.
6 Whoever observes the day, observes it for the honor of the Lord.(c) Whoever eats, eats for the Lord, since he gives thanks to God;(J) and whoever does not eat, it is for the Lord that he does not eat it, yet he thanks God.
6 The one who observes a special day, observes it to honor the Lord. The one who eats, eats to honor the Lord, since he gives thanks to God. And the one who does not eat, refrains from eating to honor the Lord; yet he, too, gives thanks to God.
8 If we live, we live to the Lord: if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
8 for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore (M)whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.
8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.(L)
8 If we live, we live to honor the Lord; and if we die, we die to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
9 For this was the purpose of Christ's dying and coming to life--namely that He might be Lord both of the dead and the living.
9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

10 But you, why do you find fault with your brother? Or you, why do you look down upon your brother? We shall all stand before God to be judged;
10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
10 But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you (P)regard your brother with contempt? For (Q)we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.
10 But you, why do you criticize your brother? Or you, why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before the tribunal of God.(d)(O)
10 Why, then, do you criticize your brother? Or why do you despise your brother? For all of us will stand before the judgment seat of God.
11 for it is written, "'As I live,' says the Lord, 'to Me every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall make confession to God.'"
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
11 For it is written,“(R)As I live, says the Lord, (S)every knee shall bow to Me,And every tongue shall (e)give praise to God.”
11 For it is written:As I live, says the Lord,every knee will bow to Me,(P)and every tongue will give praise to God.(Q)(e)
11 For it is written, "As certainly as I live, declares the Lord, every knee will bow to me, and every tongue will praise God."
The Law Of Love
13 Therefore let us no longer judge one another; but, instead of that, you should come to this judgement--that we must not put a stumbling-block in our brother's path, nor anything to trip him up.
13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

14 As one who lives in union with the Lord Jesus, I know and am certain that in its own nature no food is 'impure'; but if people regard any food as impure, to them it is.
14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
14 I know and am convinced (f)in the Lord Jesus that (W)nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who (X)thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
14 (I know and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself.(U) Still, to someone who considers a thing to be unclean, to that one it is unclean.(V))
14 I know and have been persuaded by the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in and of itself, but it is unclean to a person who thinks it is unclean.
15 If your brother is pained by the food you are eating, your conduct is no longer controlled by love. Take care lest, by the food you eat, you lead to ruin a man for whom Christ died.
15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
15 For if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer (Y)walking according to love. (Z)Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.
15 For if your brother is hurt by what you eat, you are no longer walking according to love.(W) Do not destroy that one Christ died for by what you eat.(X)
15 For if your brother is being hurt by what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not destroy the person for whom the Messiah died by what you eat.
17 For the Kingdom of God does not consist of eating and drinking, but of right conduct, peace and joy, through the Holy Spirit;
17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

19 Therefore let us aim at whatever makes for peace and mutual upbuilding of character.
19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
19 Therefore, let's keep on pursuing those things that bring peace and that lead to building up one another.
20 Do not for food's sake be throwing down God's work. All food is pure; but a man is in the wrong if his food is a snare to others.
20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.

21 The right course is to forego eating meat or drinking wine or doing anything that tends to your brother's fall.
21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
21 (AL)It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles.
21 It is a noble thing not to eat meat, or drink wine, or do anything that makes your brother stumble.(f)
21 The right thing to do is to avoid eating meat, drinking wine, or doing anything else that makes your brother stumble, upset, or weak.
22 As for you and your faith, keep your faith to yourself in the presence of God. The man is to be congratulated who does not pronounce judgement on himself in what his actions sanction.
22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
22 The faith which you have, have (j)as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who (AM)does not condemn himself in what he approves.
22 Do you have a conviction?(g) Keep it to yourself before God. The man who does not condemn himself by what he approves is blessed.(AG)
22 As for the faith you do have, have it as your own conviction before God. How blessed is the person who has no reason to condemn himself because of what he approves!
23 But he who has misgivings and yet eats meat is condemned already, because his conduct is not based on faith; for all conduct not based on faith is sinful.
23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
23 But (AN)he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.
23 But whoever doubts stands condemned if he eats,(AH) because his eating is not from a conviction,(h) and everything that is not from a conviction(i) is sin.
23 But the person who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not act in faith; and anything that is not done in faith is sin.
