Mark 16:9-20 - The Longer Ending Of Mark

Mark 16:9-20

9 Now Jesus being risen early on the first day of the week, he appear'd first to Mary Magdalene, whom he had dispossess'd of seven demons. 10 immediately she went to those who frequented Jesus, and were then bemoaning themselves in tears, and acquainted them with it. 11 but though they heard that he was alive, and had appear'd to her, they did not believe. 12 after that, he appear'd under another form to two of them, as they were taking a walk into the country. 13 and they went and acquainted the rest: but neither did they believe them.

14 afterwards he appear'd to the eleven, as they were all sitting at table, and he reproved them for their incredulity and obstinacy in not giving credit to those, who had seen him after his resurrection. 15 Then he said to them, go ye into all parts of the world, and preach the gospel to all mankind. 16 he that believeth, and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that disbelieves, shall be condemned. 17 they that believe shall be endued with these miraculous gifts: in my name they shall cast out demons: they shall speak new languages: 18 they shall handle serpents, and if they drink any mortal poison, it shall do them no hurt: they shall lay hands on the sick, and the sick shall recover.

19 Now after the Lord had convers'd with them, he was assum'd up to heaven, where he sat on the right hand of God. 20 as for the disciples, they went and preached the gospel in all parts: the Lord co-operating with them, and confirming their doctrine by the miracles that accompany'd it.

Romans 16:9-20

9 I value as a good christian. salute Urbane my assistant in the cause of Christ, 10 and my dear Stachys. salute Apelles, an approved christian. salute the family of Aristobulus. 11 salute Herodion my kinsman. salute the family of Narcissus, who have embraced the gospel. 12 salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour for the Lord. salute my dear Persis, who laboured much in the gospel. 13 salute Rufus chosen by the Lord, and his mother and mine. 14 salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren who are with them. 15 salute Philologus, Julia, Nereas, his sister, Olympas, and all the converts who are with them. 16 salute one anther with an holy kiss. all the churches of Christ here, salute you.

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark those who cause divisions and revolts against the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them. 18 for such as these serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own selfishness; and by flourish and flattery, deceive the open-hearted simple.

19 your christianity is very well known in the world. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you as expert in that which is good, as unpractis'd in what is evil. 20 the God of peace will soon bruise Satan under your feet. the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
