and they go to the entrance of Gedor, unto the east of the valley, to seek pasture for their flock,

All these [were] the sons of Jediael according to the heads of the {families}, mighty warriors, seventeen thousand two hundred, {able to go to war}.

All these were the children of Asher, heads of their fathers' house, choice and mighty men of valor, chief of the princes. And the number throughout the genealogy of them that were fit to go to war and to battle was twenty and six thousand men.

From Manasseh also some defected to David when he was about to go to battle with the Philistines against Saul. But they did not help them, for the lords of the Philistines after consultation sent him away, saying, “At the cost of our heads he may defect to his master Saul.”

And of the half tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand which were appointed by name to go to make David king.

And let us get back for ourselves the ark of our God: for in the days of Saul we did not go to it for directions.

so David inquired of God, “Should I go to war against the Philistines? Will You hand them over to me?”

The Lord replied, “Go, and I will hand them over to you.”

And David will yet ask in God: and God will say to him, Thou shalt not go up after them; turn about from off them, and go to them from the front of the weepings.

“Go to David My servant and say, ‘This is what the Lord says: You are not the one to build Me a house to dwell in.

And it shall come to pass, when thy days are fulfilled that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will set up thy seed after thee, who shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

Now therefore go to and bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue before thee forever. For what thou blessest, O LORD that is blessed forever."
