And Yahweh did so, and a {severe} [swarm of] flies came to the house of Pharaoh and the house of his servants and in all the land of Egypt; the land was ruined because of the flies.

(Now the flax and the barley were ruined because the barley was in ear and the flax was in bud.

The wheat and the wild grainwere not ruined because they were late crops.)

And Pharaoh's bondmen said to him, How long shall this man be a snare to us? let the men go, that they may serve Jehovah their God: dost thou not yet know that Egypt is ruined?
