By faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the first born should touch them.

For then he must often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once at the consummation of the ages hath he been manifested, to abolish sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Therefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou hast not chosen, but a body hast thou prepared for me.

Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering, and burnt-offerings and offering for sin thou hast not chosen, neither delighted in, which are offered by the law:

But he having offered one sacrifice for sins,

For when we sin wilfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained a testimony that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and by it, being dead he yet speaketh.

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise continually to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to his name.
