Now concerning eating food offered to idols: We know that no idol is real in this world and that there is only one God.

If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap material benefits from you?

For what we are writing you is nothing more than what you can read and also understand. I hope you will understand completely,

You are our letter, written in our hearts and known and read by everyone.

However, their minds were hardened, for to this day the same veil is still there when they read the old covenant. Only in union with the Messiah is that veil removed.

Yet even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.

Remember this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.

You see, then, that those who have faith are Abraham's real descendants.

Let's not get tired of doing what is good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

When this letter has been read among you, have it read also in the church of the Laodiceans, and be sure to read the one from Laodicea.

I order you by the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.

By doing this they store up a treasure for themselves that is a good foundation for the future, so that they can keep their hold on the life that is real.
