And Moses did as LORD commanded him. And he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation.

And they said to him, From a very far country. Thy servants have come because of the name of LORD thy God, for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,

and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon, and to Og king of Bashan, who was at Ashtaroth.

And the men took of their provision, and did not ask counsel at the mouth of LORD.

And the sons of Israel did not smite them, because the rulers of the congregation had sworn to them by LORD, the God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against the rulers.

And so he did to them, and delivered them out of the hand of the sons of Israel, that they did not kill them.

And they did so, and brought forth those five kings to him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon.

As LORD commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did. He left nothing undone of all that LORD commanded Moses.

Nevertheless the sons of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites, nor the Maacathites, but Geshur and Maacath dwell in the midst of Israel to this day.

As LORD commanded Moses, so the sons of Israel did, and they divided the land.

And they did not drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer, but the Canaanites dwell in the midst of Ephraim to this day, and have become servants to do task work.

And it came to pass, when the sons of Israel grew strong, that they put the Canaanites to task work, and did not utterly drive them out.

And if the avenger of blood pursues after him, then they shall not deliver up the manslayer into his hand, because he smote his neighbor unawares, and did not hate him formerly.

that ye must turn away this day from following LORD? And it will be, seeing ye rebel today against LORD, that tomorrow he will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel.
